I'm the one they're all taking pictures of. Y'all didn't know I was a rally car driver, demolition derby, mountain climber, ( I do tennis and car shows in drag ), Quaterback ( I threw him the ball ), Stunt Pilot . . . I could go on but I don't like to brag.
I will say that the photos of some of my previous holloween costumes are pretty good. I wasn't the bird though, I was the water.

Some of what people do to get the "shot" is crazy.

I have read about people going what I would say would be "overboard" to get the "shot". Using pick axes to make rock level for tripods or cutting away branches or bushes, basically damaging the environment. I don't think this is worth getting the "shot".

Good stuff.

Lion guys is an obvious chop and aside from overloaded-camera-gear-guy, the rest seem somewhat reasonable.

And with js - using and blending into your environment is fine, but significantly damaging or altering it is not.

Dan Martin is such an awesome photographer that:

The tree would bend down for Dan Martin to step up, then raise him into the air bending its branches to put Dan in the perfect place to capture the photograph.

Dan Martin doesn't "focus" his lens. The light entering his camera hits the imager perfectly every time out of respect for his awesomeness.

Dan Martin ALWAYS has enough light to photograph his subject.

Dan Martin CAN capture Chuck Norris' round house kick without any motion blur.

Dan Martin CAN photograph a black hole and capture every detail of its interior.

Dan Martin can shoot a full color perfectly exposed photograph in complete darkness.

Superman is not faster than Dan Martin's shutter button finger.

Dan Martin disproved Einsteins Theory of Relativity by capturing a still image of a ray of light.

Dan Martin CAN go faster than light.

Dan Martin never misses a shot. The light from the shot will wait for him to get setup and ready.

Dan Martin DOES get a large depth of field at wide aperture settings.

I know I'm not a regular poster in the Photography section, but I am a regular lurker, so I could not resist.

With respect Dan!

Funny, I've had to kneel down pretty low to the ground myself for those low angle shots! haha But never to that extreme!

+1 on the for Galen. His photos are stunning and he was a great mountaineer, as well. The pic above is the epitome of doing anything to get the shot.
