Little photoshot of a friend of mine
My friend sam got a call back from Elite, and wanted me take some pictures of her asap.
So heres my first time actually trying something like this.
Nikon d300
18-200vr for the shots till were on the sidewalk and the tree
50mm 1.4 tree and sidewalk shots
Poor weather was coming in and not alot of close places to go with her time restraint.
Feel free to give me some feedback and pointers =)
i tried working with my sb800 flash wasn't too sure what looked best, more of a flash or less of a flashy look.
Then also came to processing it didn't know which way to swing more. haha

if its for a modeling agency, crop in tighter, they dont care about the bridge in the background.
and the ones with a less flash look are better.

What are these pictures for? If they're for headshots and zed cards, you need to redo them all on a neutral background with flattering poses and lighting for her body and face style.
If it is just for fun and your use, they are not good because they lack purpose. There is a girl standing on a rock. The background isn't particularly pretty, and the lighting and poses on her are unflattering.
Criticism might seem harsh, but portrait photography is my specialty and it involves a lot more than just a scantly clad girl.

Needs more Lemon Pledge
+1 for a different background. Or, use a wider aperture to blur it out. You had the 50 1.4, but used f4, and f7 for the wide shots.
For the flash (I suck at flash...) did you use any kind of diffuser or bounce card? it seems a little harsh on her skin, and blew out some parts of her.

Yea we didnt really have the choice to play with different background due to limit of time needed.
She didn't care much how they were, but needed some to show.
I wanted to use my 50mm 1.4 but i'd be the water and alot of geese poo.
I used the standard diffuser on the sb800, so i was thinking if i did more invest in an umbrella and mutliple flash units.
Of course this was just a a fun thing to try.
