Exclamation Lightroom Import Problems

Anyone ever have any issues with data in their images getting corrupted upon import?

The first time it happened was back when I took those pics of one of my boy's in the Darth Vader costume with my Nikon. a couple of the images importing with fucking lines in them...happened twice in a row. So, I finally just deleted the bad images and reimported them again and it was fine.

Didn't really have much of an issue again...but its started to become more frequent. Usually, when I see it happen in an image or two, I'll cancel the import, delete everything, and start over again and it'll import fine.

Today, I've importing images off my dad's camera and I tried 3-4 times and images would still import corrupted. I finally said fuck it, and tried a different method of import that worked.

But this has now happened importing straight from the camera body (my former D3) and from using the SD card reader in my MBP.

The image that import corrupted are never the same ones twice, its sporadic. As is the level of corrupted data.

Anyone have a clue what in the blue fuck is going on, because its really pissing me off.

Here is an example of the image as I imported it raw from the camera converted to DNG...I've done nothing to it save resize it and save it as jpeg to post here.

Original file is fine. I have always been able to reimport files just fine after a few attempts. As I mentioned before its random...so, i'll import and two images will be corrupt....then, Ill delete and reimport and they'll import fine but 2 other images will corrupt.

well it sounds like its an issue with the DNG converter? have you already tried deleting the program folder and anything associated with it and reinstalling?

wouldn't it just be a question of backing up the database and then restoring it after the reinstall? (I know it would take some time though)

yeah I would guess - given that your original files are OK - getting a new machine with new install will fix your issue. Hop to it!

I guess I'm not the only one waiting for the 13" retinas

I've never had the issue you point out, but with LR4, the import screen is still giving me "preview not available" on most of the import images, even after the last patch - on all my cameras (50D, 7D, iPhone 4S). It's annoying.
