What happens if your internet service goes down? I was working on some photos the other night and our cable/internet service was interrupted for some unknown reason. I kept on processing. What would happen if I were a "cloud" subscriber?

Best Buy guy: "just performance man...pure performance"
"what do you mean"
"i mean 6D has 20 MP and 5D iii has 22 MP"
"does that make a $2000 difference?" (at this point i was just amusing my self)
so this guy picks up the 6D and goes listen to this...shoots a pic and then pics up and 5D iii and does the same. and goes...thats what a good performing camera sounds like LMAO

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
I'm offline a lot with my laptop when using LR+PS. Every once in a while PS will gently remind you that it can't reach the internet and you'll need to go online in the next 60 days. It's really not a problem.

Sigh... these people send me a message asking to use one of my pics on their magazine with this as part of the email:
And of course they want to pay by simply giving me credit. So... You tell me you're catering to rich people and you're cheap?
I don't know how to respond so I haven't. I may say flat rate of $200/image for print resolution and see what they say.
Targeting the world’s wealthiest, most influential and most sophisticated readers, Experience is a lifestyle magazine for the elite of the jet set. Mailed to the homes and offices of Bombardier business and personal jet owners, the magazine offers an innovative blend of the world’s best to engage this unique clientele.

that seems like a fair price to ask. I agree it is sad when some purportedly "rich" institution can't pay for photos.

It's tough. Just go by what sounds "reasonable". But it's always gonna be tough. There's no exact number for anything. Several months ago I almost sold a digital file for 3k, but I was being a little too greedy and it didn't go through. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I sold that same digital file to someone else, for 1k.
You have to do some research on the company or network (or individual) you are doing business with, find out how big they are, what their scope and market is, things like that. Those factors will help you arrive at a competitive number that is both reasonable and fair. Another thing you can do is inquire about their budget, in your preliminary dealings.

Cool, but someone commented there are 17 required book. I bet they cost a lot.
I do miss shooting for my school paper thou. I had ALOT of fun doing it. Even with the hectic deadlines.

It seems like she apologized because she didn't have any other choice though - i.e. it seemed forced. I mean she was pushed against a wall - there was no question of owning up to anything, she had no other choice, if she wanted to continue. Disappointing for someone of her caliber. However she is still doing well.

all I know is... the other wedding photog that got in trouble for the same thing -Doug Gordon.... I went to one of his workshops that was from some kind of groupon purchase and I think the guy is phoney as hell. I can't believe Nikon actually had him on their list of "Nikon Ambassadors" but recently took him off (thank God
). It was suppose to be a 4 hour workshop and I swear, the last 2 hours were pretty much him promoting himself

And overall what he is saying is true and is a great way to shut up internet "masters" running around bashing smaller format sensors.
BUT its also an over simplification. He did mention the shift in "bokeh" isn't that big of a different between aps-c and ff....and I disagree. If you are shooting with a deep stop or strobes, he is probably correct...but when you are shooting natural light with wide open apertures there is a big difference in DoF.
The other, and bigger issue, he fails to mention is focal enhancement and lens choices. With DSLR...the better choices of glass come in the FF variety and some people, myself included, don't want focal enhancement. The biggest reason I went full frame was so my wide lenses....are wide lenses. Good quality wide lenses (with fast apertures) for crop sensor DSLRs are harder to find.
Never mind getting into the whole DSLR vs mirrorless, which is really where he was going with the Fuji vs the Nikon.
Mirrorless is here to stay, and the professional shift is very much headed there. There are some GREAT mirrorless cameras. And those companies are starting to make some good fast glass to accompany them.
So, again I agree with him overall. But there is still a case for shooting full frame. But his video was aimed more at the amateurs and keyboard warriors.

By and large this is a good video to watch, especially if your knowledge of celluloid formats is lacking.

you guys want to see some awesome portrait work all done with Olympus?
(not to mention beautiful Russian women
)
https://www.facebook.com/SeanArcherPhotography
further proves that you don't "need" full frame or medium format to do professional work (or in this case, even APS-C)

I don't use my GF1 anymore...but Ive always said that it is a pretty amazing camera for portraits (I think it excelled at it vs other types of shooting), and that is M4/3 which is way smaller than APS-C.

no arguments here that I can recall, but it was more or less a continuation of what Zack Arias said
