Flaming red interior + Cabriolet + Autoshifter = chick car. You don't have to agree though.
What is the point of this, other than to be a dick?

Feel free to put me on ignore Charlie. You can go back to your quality car MKZ and Regal are better than TL thread because they have higher sales volumes than a car which has reached the end of production.

I am in the market for a sports car and was commenting on my distaste for ALL red interior. I've been on the receiving end of quite a few potshots for my opinions in the TLX thread, so its more than fair that I can tease back on occasion.

If you think that qualifies me as being a dick, you should probably spend a bit less time on the interwebz and spend more time in the real world where everyone is always unfailingly polite and hits the like button after everything you say.

Encouraging you to go bother someone else is being "butt hurt"? You have strange ideas. Don't single me out in your silly posts and I won't bother with you.

lol there's absolutely nothing "girly" about a cabriolet that runs the 1/4 in the low 11's, from the factory.

He's certainly entitled to his opinion on the matter, but stating his opinions as though they were incontrovertible fact, that's another story. Not to mention, singling people out for his personal scorn for no apparent reason, well...that just .

So back to the current topic ... That 911 Turbo-4 actually sounds like a Porsche. It's not terribly loud but from the exhaust note I heard, Porsche seems to have figured out how to disguise the Turbo-4 as a Flat-6.

As far as pricing goes, there's a $9K gap between the 911 Carrera ($84K) and the Cayman GTS ($75K). Is $75K for a (perhaps 300hp) 911 Carrera Turbo-4 too much money? Would they actually sell a 911 for less than a top-of-the line Cayman?

VW can get 300hp out of their 2.0T right now so it's not unreasonable to think that Porsche could too. That would create 911 tiers at:

912 Turbo-4 - 300hp for $75K
911 Carrera - 350hp for $84K
911 Carrera S - 400hp for $98K

I hate the idea of a 4-cyl in a 911.

Thanks, CAFE!

I think marketing has their work cut out for them. It could be a challenge trying to sell a turbo-4 for that much.

I agree. But it makes so much more sense by itself in a Cayman. Unless this engine is part of a 918-like system for the 911?

Actually it was only 38k. And since the take rate on my 6MT was less than 5%, I'll bet the rare bird who is rocking a manual is probably a pretty smoking hot MILF.

Feel free to troll me after having parlayed 20k savings over a S4 into an NSX or a 911 with some overpriced options.

Ah yes, you're non existent thread for your imaginary sports car.

This is the NSX you plan on buying right?

This is a toughie...but, Jalopnik does make some compelling arguments as to why the 964 is the best-looking 911 ever.

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/the...7204/+ballaban

What do you think?

Here's the 964...

The 964 was the culmination of the "classic" 911 shape. So in that sense, I do agree it's the best-looking 911 - from a historical view.

Some dude in our office complex drives a black/tan 993 T. Def hawt.

Curious to know how many of you have taken any 991 variants for a spin. Haven't taken the stop order GT3 or a turbo for a drive yet, but I'm holding out hope that that Stuttgart will relent and offer a 7MT.

964 & 993 =
997 & 991 just behind those on looks alone
996 IMO, compared to the rest.

The advantage of the 996's looks is that they are DIRT cheap. You can find a 996 with 70k for <$20k in good condition. My dad sold his '87 Targa with 94K for $16K.
