I like the styling of the car quite a bit.
A Porsche designer was once quoted as saying that a car that grasps your attention with polarizing styling and leaves you having a hard time deciding whether you like it or not, is a design that is timeless. I see the GTR as such a car, in that folks are drawn to the radical angular styling, but can't seem to figure out if they like it or not.
Either way, better to have polarizing styling than to be bland. And with its performance potential and amazing price, it could be styled like an Aztek and Nissan would still sell a bunch of them.

Sounds like the GTR and 997TT comparison will be interesting. The article makes it seem like the Porsche is faster in a straight line, but the GTR is more composed in the turns.
"For all-round ability, I have no doubt the Nissan is the best car I've ever driven. It is almost as fast as the Porsche - which means it's almost as fast as any car on earth - and inspires more confidence through corners, yet it's also more roomy and practical and has a proper modern gearbox. "

Priceless
Read the next to last paragraph:
Priceless journalism. This guy should get an award. Dicking about. Ha.
In the Nissan, you get the feeling that the car could probably go even faster if it didn't have you, a mere human being, dicking about at the wheel.

First Nissan GT-R crash
First Nissan GT-R crash
Even with an advanced all-wheel-drive system, the Nissan GT-R must still be handle for some with its 480-horsepower twin-turbo 3.8L V6. Something like that must've been the case with the owner of this black GT-R, who has earned the distinctly displeasurable honor of being the first to crash a production Nissan GT-R. The location of the crash is unknown, though some forum goers have guessed Hong Kong. The circumstances surrounding the accident are also a mystery, though it's clear that the GT-R hit something almost head on and that its crumple zones do, in fact, work quite well. Hopefully we won't be posting about GT-Rs that bite the dust as often as we do Enzos, but clearly Nissan's new supercar needs to be respected by novice drivers.
