^^ Honda missed the memo on quite a few things.

OMG. Is Nissan planning to put the navigation under the vents for the 2013 Altima? Haven't they heard that "you never put Navigation screen under the vents?"

how many Altima you have actually seen with navigation system. Point of family car is lowest price so minimal curves are achieved in dash. It wont matter where it is put. but once your willing to pay higher price. (Maxima) every thing need to be on perfect ergonomically.

Why Porsche interior has vents above navi unit? Porsche 911 costs 3 times or more than Maxima with navigation.

2012 R8 same way.
Why you make confuse please?

You were the one who criticized Ford for putting the Fusion's navi under the vents and asked who still does that. When I showed that the next Altima is going to be the same, it's now somehow excusable???
Hypocrite.

Maybe SSFTSX is from a different planet. Maybe we are all wrong.

Over the past few months, the 2013 Nissan Altima has slowly been dropping more and more camo. 1st we caught it with very heavy cladding which was followed by a lighter version of the same thing, but on a red car, and then finally, Nissan ditched the baggy stuff altogether and put some 3M tape covered in swirls.
Now we've got an even cleaner look courtesy of Nissan Japan's Youtube site. The video, celebrating 30 years of production at Nissan Technical Center, briefly shows a pre-pre-pre-production 2013 Altima with no camo testing. We can clearly see the new headlights, swoopy bodywork and a new, sharper grille.

I'm not feeling the quasi-Infinti M swoopy profile but I'll reserve judgment until I see a finished product.

Oh no!!! It looks like Nissan got infected by the horrible Infiniti design disease!!!

Nissan/Infiniti got a B
Honda/Acura got a D
At least Nissan/Infiniti look sporty, can't say the same for Honda

The current Altima looks like a safe vanilla sedan, which is not ugly at all. I'll hold off until I see a production version of the new one.
The current Maxima looks pretty good and I see a little bit of that in this car..

However I do agree that other than the Z Nissan has nothing that is an impressive looking design.
There is a whole lotta goofy design from the Juke to Murano.

It's too bad, that concept design was really nice.
Actually really like the side and rear of the current Altima (still holds up pretty well today); it's just that the front fascia needed more refinement.
#709
The new Elantra, Sonata, and Azera have similar disjointed curves and swoops to the side and rear profiles, but don't hear anyone complaining about that. The Sonata itself has a really unrefined/bloated up front fascia. I would like to see Hyundai reduce that to look better like it does on the Elantra and Azera.

^ Also the Camry, Fusion and Malibu, etc. Nothing too exciting, sure you have some stunnas (New Fusion, Sonata/Optima) but for the most part playing it safe has been the defined route.
#712
The Altima competes with the Camry, Accord, Sonata, Malibu, Fusion, Passat, Legacy, and Mazda 6.
Of these vanilla mid-size sedans, the Altima and Mazda 6 has always been the fun two of the bunch that have more crisp handling and looks compared to the others. If I had to get something from this group right now, it would be the Altima, Mazda 6, or Legacy.

Then explain the Altima sales over the last couple of generations.
Clearly you can see vanilla does in fact work.
