Theres plenty of room, just look at the Accord coupe. A loaded Altima coupe with nav would just cross over a stripped Z in price. Also, I would think the majority of sales are going to be 4cylinders anyways.

The way I look at it, the buyer of a coupe doesn't plan on using the rear seats often. Essentially, they are buying a 2 seat car. This is the way I look at my Mustang. The rear seat is going to be practically useless for everyone but small children. The price of a V6 coupe will be just as high as an Enthusiast Z, so why would you buy the coupe? The only thing I can think of is trunk space and possibly styling.

Both the Toyota Solara and Honda Accord coupe offer a 4 cylinder or V6 motor.

IIRC, a backseat is supposed to lend itself towards keeping auto insurance costs down.

There is a BIG difference between my old CLS and my Z. The Z is not a car for everyone. It's small inside, rough riding, had little to no stroage capacity. It's a fun car, but it's not extremely practical. The CLS wasn't as much fun, but it was definitlely more practical (much like a 2dr Altima will be).

Though it adds to the total sales under the Camry badge. That's why you have the Accord coupe, so that Honda can claim more sales under the Accord badge for best seller effort.

I disagree.

One would buy an Altima coupe for the practicallity that it will offer over the Z. More room, back seats, more trunk space and it will be cheaper than the Z. Two totally different vehicles.

True. The buyer of a coupe does not use the rear seats often, that's why they bought a coupe though. Because the rear, tiny seats will only be used in a "must use" type of a situation. Though psychologically, the coupe buyer feels a lot more comfortable buying a 2+2 than a strict 2-seater vehicle. A 2 seater says "even if you need a back seat three times in three years, you cant have that option". That's scary even to most coupe buyers.

That argument is true and it makes a big difference only with expensive 2+2 vehicles. The best example is the 911.

I think he means for the convertible...IIRC, only the V6 is available for the Solara convertible.

His response was to my post in which I stated 'Coupe' not 'convertible.'

Nissan: Altima news **2013 Revealed (page 13)**

AutoWeek | Published 03/17/06, 3:17 pm et

Nissan is using next month's New York Auto Show as the stage for the world debut of its next generation 2007 Altima.

Details are scarce, but one thing to glean from the teaser photo above is that the new Altima's rear taillights will be markedly different than the outgoing model, so expect changes to the new vehicle's front and rear facias.

Stay tuned to AutoWeek.com for all the latest on the new Altima and the rest of the New York show debutantes up to and during the show's media preview days, April 12-13.

even from that picture, you can see it has the new Nissan rear end design cues in regards to the trunk's "pushed-in" deck. Also, those tail lights look like an RL and current gen Altima's baby

Agreed. I think it works well with the slightly recessed trunk lid.

not bad, but cant really make a judgement on that alone. i really dont like the clear tails too, its so bland and cheap looking. i did like the blacked out tails on the current gen Altima SE-R's.
