someone just posted this on bmw forum.

Real life C class 400 next to F30 M sport.

There is something seriously wrong with the rear

WTF. That's fugly.

But then, I think that's their "luxury" trim version.

The "sport" trim should look much more aggressive.

Regardless, that's fugly.

Looks too much like they just took an S-Class rear end and shrunk it to 70%

Partly, I think, is it being parked next to an M-Sport. But I think the new C is slated as more of a luxury than sport, that model at least.
I think it looks great from just about every other angle, but the rear does seem a little bland.

everytime I see that rear end, I think 1999-2000 Hyundai Sonata. Somehow MB managed to take one of the nicest looking compacts and fuglied it up

My coworker actually said something along the same lines. It reminded him of an old Hyundai

I thought the same thing when I saw it. How did this design get off the drawing board?

Both the Bimmer and C-Class are going more generic styling.

But the 3 series has the awesome generic styling. And the C-Class has the ugly generic styling.

Agreed, though at first I didn't like the F30 much. It looks really sharp in M-Sport trim. Which I guess is the point really.

The lack of detail in the tail lights hurts it but I think the issue is that photography doesn't pick up a lot of the nuance in the shape. It's supposed to be in the same design theme as the CLS, CLA, etc ...

Dude.. it was in your options before?

I just can't find a single reason why I would go for a C class over 3 series or A4. haha

Every review I have read said the new C-Class is a remarkable car. But it is absolutely a baby S-Class and not a sports car.

I don't want a baby S-class though.... I want a sports sedan.

To me it looks like the rear end has more "Maybach" styling to it.

But from the photos it doesn't look that good at all.

The rear seems unfinished (same goes for the E Class), but have heard nothing but good things about the new C Class.

Not only is it the 1st C Class (if not compact) with a bona fide luxury-grade interior, in certain respects, it's supposed to be better than that of the E Class.

Yea I have heard a lot of good things about the new C Class. Most say that it's not a sports sedan like a 3 series. It's more on the luxury side. The interior is really like, other than that ipad............

Well, to be fair, I generally start with a list of around 10 cars when I gear up to buy. The C-Class didn't survive the first round of cuts, but it made the list initially!

I actually liked the styling on the old C-Class to be honest.

The new one is a brand new state of the art chassis and car. If it isn't one someone's list initially, I think they are cheating themselves.

just wandering around the site and saw the picture above for the first time.

Initial thought; I know Hyundai and Kia have copied luxuries brands, butt, why would MB imitate an early 90's Hyundai!??!?!?

Holy crap. WTF were they thinking. Love the interior, but the rear is downright fugly. No way in hell would I take this over a 3 series, IS, or SH TLX.
