They probably sell it right along the $60 SD cards that you can buy from them!

I guess for me this redesign is kinda jarring. While the interior was somewhat lacking on the old C-Class I always liked the exterior design. And WTF is with the Germans and gluing iPads to center stacks? Audi first, then BMW now Mercedes?!

The Nav screen is an interesting and unique solution. I'm going to wait to see it in person to decide what to think. Other than the nav screen, that car's interior is amazing.

Already have, Mazda3.
I don't hate it as much as I did when I first saw it on the CLA.

Nitpicking, but why do manufacturers insist on doing black/CF roof when it doesn't line up with the windshield and rear window

other than the "glued on iPad" I think the interior looks really good. MB finally taking some chances?

I think introducing the CLA in the lineup was a home run move by MB.

Dashboards designed around integrating the Nav screen are on the way out.

What BMW and MB are doing will be the future. It's a simpler interior design. Easier to MFG and design.

Well people better start complaining because these new designs are terrible. Why on earth do I want a tablet looking device tacked on to the dash as though its an afterthought? Looks ridiculous and terribly unintegrated. I much preferred the dual hooded nav screen approach in the E9X 3 series rather than this new direction everybody seems to be going in...

The logical response to your post will be Moog's post.

Well MS thought Win8 was logical until everybody got pissed and they realized that they couldn't just do whatever the hell they wanted regardless of what their customers thought. Enough people complain about these abominations and the trend will change back, regardless how much more $$$ it costs...

You are gonna find that for the same amount the loved the double hood in the E9x, there were those who absolutely hated the look. The giant middle hump looked goofy versus the stream-lined look of the dash without it.

To each his own certainly, but MB and BMW set the trends quite a bit of the time, and it appears this will be the future.

There really is no need for a huge hump in the dash anymore. The electronics have become so small and thin.

Cheaper, simpler, sleeker.
It will become the new norm in design.

Wouldn't dumb opportunists break into your car thinking they can pry that thing off and selling it?

Hopefully MB thought of that and made it easy to break away and not tear up the whole dash when someone does that.

Manufacturer advantages be damned, I have to agree that the nav-screen looks like an afterthought. Reminds me too much of old-school/aftermarket pop up or flip-up screens.

As much as it looks jarring, I agree with the fact that this is the most functional design. And come on, a manufacturer-fitted big screen looks better than "gluing an iPad". I think I prefer this to a tiny screen.

They couldn't really do what Tesla did because regular cars need a center tunnel.

Every gen of the C class has gotten better.
1G was far better than the 190E which was cheap and a POS.
Only thing with the new one if the iPad glued to the center stackup, infortatinment is important it just looks out of place.

I hated the nav screen look on the Mazda 3 too until I sat in it and drove it. It's placement is not as awkward when it's actually in use and you're driving, but I agree in pictures it does look out of place.

Funny thing for me though is at the completely side angle in the white C class photo it reminds me of the 2G RL almost with that short rounded backside with slightly different tail lights. Not sure I'm digging it from anywhere but head on. Love that steering wheel though

Yea definitely with the tapered tail the new C is less sport and more comfort/luxury.

I read in the specs that the iPad-size nav screen is actually only 8.something inches, which is not that big... I think other cars do larger screens better, like BMW for example. Even Lexus only has a 7" screen but they can easily fit an 8.5" screen in the cavity.

I like the interior apart from the nav screen. For you nuthuggers defending it, the S-class has an integrated setup so this is obviously a cost-based decision.

Not the entire interior, you buffoon, just integrate the screen properly. People ITT are claiming it to be superior to a cohesive dash when it clearly isn't.

there doesn't appear to be the real estate required for this kind of integration on the C-Class.

Did you numbskulls miss the part where I said I liked the rest of the interior? Describe one aspect of a German car as less-than-perfect and nAZINE gets butthurt.

Whatever about forum etiquette, fact remains that there are functional advantages to the integrated nav screen, the most important of which is that glare is great reduced. I'd imagine that C-class screen would be nearly impossible to see in bright sunlight...

This isn't Acura we are talking about.

Obviously they have tested it to make sure it works under the sunlight. If we were to bash the design, that's fine. But if you are going to bash the functionality of this, please go check it out in person first and let us know.

Dude, I will never buy a another BMW and most of Mercedes is for a type of person I don't want to be. Yes, I like Audi most of the time. But not enough to pay $50K for an A5 or $35K for a used A4.

Your irrational generalizations are getting tedious.
