Well i like the styling of the e90 sedan but I dont like it enough to buy one. The taillights kill it for me.
I liked everything about the old G35... all it needed was a nicer interior which this new one seems to do in pics. Plus keeping it the same price...

ok just got back from test driving this thing. local dealer had 4 in stock that had just came in yesterday. all were the non sport/journey models with 17" wheels. only one was prepped and that was the ivory pearl color which i loved. ivory pearl makes it look more like the coupe than the other colors ive seen (black/blue slate/platinum graphite/liquid platinum/lakeshore blue).
like my TL-S test drive, this salesman had also never driven/checked out the new G so he was excited. salesman has a G coupe and i have never driven the old G so i will compare it to the TL-S and the old G based on the salesmans comments.
power. man, this thing is quick. off the line, mid range, high end, doesnt matter what range you're in this thing definitely felt more powerful than both the G coupe and TL-S. the exhaust note was nice but a little too muted for my tastes. although not whisper quiet like the TL-S.
body roll was about equal to the TL-S but absorbed bumps better. im sure the sport model with firmer suspension and 18" wheels and/or 4 wheel steering would be even better. none of that road noise the TL-S had.
you can hook up your phone via bluetooth while the car is moving. salesman said his G has to be stopped in order to do so. calls sounded a little muddy though.
navi calculations were very quick. probably the quickest out of all navi's ive seen. graphics were great. you can use the knob, touchscreen, or voice activation to use navi.
bose studio on wheels impressed me. fm radio never sounded so good. didnt have any cd's to try out. the 10" door subwoofers individually could've used a little more oomph but put the 3 subs all together and they sounded great. no need for aftermarket subs unless you want somethin to wake up your neighbors.
yes, this is my next car.

Nice Infamous! Did you test drive a stick or auto? If auto, did you try the paddle shifters?
I'm telling you, this new G35 is a better deal, cheaper in price, 100% Japanese made, and a no brainer to get instead of the TL-S. I think whoever says the TL-S is better is either an Acura fanboy, jealous, or has an inferiority complex that unfortunately Acura is starting to get beaten by Infiniti.
So is the exhaust sound less than the older G35? I wanted it to sound even more badass the new G35 sedan like the Mustang, but maybe they'll reserve that for the new G coupe instead.

i drove the auto. i dont think dealers are getting sticks in yet unless it was customer ordered. and they didnt have any sport models so no paddle shifter to test out although i did use the auto in 'tiptronic' mode. i liked the rev matching. salesman was going crazy (when he was driving) with the jack rabbit takeoffs, haha.
i think the exhaust sound is about the same as the old sedan but less than the coupe.
i agree the new G is better all around than the TL-S.

So its not possible that someone may actually prefer the TL-S? Come-on, take your head out of the G35's tailpipe. The exhaust fumes are obviously affecting your brain.

Well, the new G35 coupe will affect my brain even more.
This has been my brain from fumes on driving an Acura TSX
This could be my brain from fumes on the new Infiniti G35

I had a couple of minutes to spare last nite on the way to dinner and stopped by the local Infiniti dealer. They had one G35S on the lot (MSRP 40K
). When asked the salesman said the 6MT is due at the end of the month. I just had enough time to try the seats - yeah they are kind of snug, but felt good. The protruding CD changer in the trunk is just a bad idea.
When the 6MT comes in I'll test drive one. While in the car I had a thought and this applies to all cars that have these keyless ignition systems. What's the range of the keyfob? Does the keyfob actually have to be in the car? The salesman was standing with the keys next to the open door and I thought about trying to start it but had to go. And then if it does start with the key out of the car what happens if you try to drive off? Come to think of it, what would happen if you toss the keyfob out while driving?

I can answer part of your question, if you have the key in your pocket and get out of the car it keeps running until the power button is pressed again(as the salesman told me today). The lexus systems have good range you can be about 4-5 feet outside the car and it will still start, I haven't played with the infiniti yet.
I also put a deposit on a 07 G35x with premium package today, I should be driving it by this time next week

if the key is naything like on the M, it will not start unless the key is very close or inside the car.
by very close, i mean right at the edge of the door (door has to be opened in order to get close enough). There is a sensor inside the car, a sensor in the trunk, and sensors in each door for specific functions...only if it can sense the key inside the car will it start.

It will beep at you when the key is outside the in-cabin sensor range (pretty much as soon as you step out), but the car will continue to run. i never tried it, but i think you can also lock the car with the engine running as long as you have the smartkey outside the cabin.
It's similar to starting a non-smartkey car in the driveway and remembering that you forgot something, so you leave the key in the ignition, run in, and grab what you forgot. The only difference is that if someone jacks a non-smartkey car, they can turn it off and restart it. With the smartkey, if they turn off the car, they can't restart it without the smartkey.

Buying cars more often than not doesn't make sense. If it did there wouldn't be any SUV's on the road.

IS350 vs. TL-S vs. G35 Sport in R&T Sport Sedan comparo. The above link is a teaser video.
For those who can't wait:
1. Lexus IS350
2. Acura TL-S
3. Infiniti G35 Sport
^ Just goes to show what a well engineered sedan the TL is even though its the oldest competitor. Props to the IS350 for its unbelievable power - 0 - 60 in just 4.9 seconds and the 1/4 in a blazing 13.5 seconds.
04EuroAccordTSX: I guess the editors of R&T must be "Acura Fanboys" because they ranked the TL-S ahead of the G35?

Yup, the editors of R&T are "Acura fanboys" or just plain idiots if you ask me.
The IS350 sucks, it doesn't even come in manual and has no rear seat room at all. Two thumbs down to the editors of R&T.
The editors of Car and Driver know what they're talking about, while the editors of R&T don't. Like they said when Car and Driver reviewed the 2007 G35, one editor said:
The G35 also brings up another comparison, to wit: Why on earth would one buy a Lexus IS350? The Lexus isn’t appreciably quicker, doesn’t look as good, and is a fairly anodyne driving experience, whereas the G35 is a very soulful machine
You know Vishnus you really the biggest moron and idiot known to man here on Acurazine, along with Gilboman. Both of you like to start things up, but can't back it up.

![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
You showed blatant disregard for a little thing called opinion when you made a retarded blanket statement by saying that "anyone who chooses a TL-S over a G35 is an idiot/acura fanboy
![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Now R&T states the same thing, in that they preferred the TL-S to the G35, and you've now changed tracks to the "C&D is better than R&T" argument because one editor in C&D prefers the G35. The quote you mentioned was detailed in the COUNTERPOINT section of the article in which individual editors speak their mind.
Regardless, you sir, are one of the biggest morons to hit this forum in a while. Your posts have no worthwhile info, and you sound like a 12 year old at best, especially when you make blanket statements with no regard for a little thing called opinion and personal attacks. Grow up and mature a little, and then comeback and post.
