Including other markets, for each generation of the Focus, there's always a ST trim, and a RS trim. Until this gen, all of the ST and RS trims were FWD.

Likewise, since the 6G Civic, Si/SiR (or other names) and Type R are the two performance variants of the Civic.

With that said, for the 10th gen Civic, there's an Si. I'm not sure in what form it's coming in though (coupe or hatch, or both??).
Oh, I know what you mean.

I'm just talking about the US market. I don't care what is and isn't available in Europe.

I'm simply talking about Ford adding a RS AWD variant to the US Focus lineup.

IMO, Honda should do that too if they want to go AWD with the performance oriented model. Keep SI as a FWD and make another with AWD.

Definitely the case. If I were Honda, all Acuras would be AWD standard. No more FWD garbage.

And the Civic Type R should be AWD.

But the Euro-spec Accord platform was discontinued, apparently to simplify and save money. That killed the TSX and left the new entry level Acura ILX to be built on a Civic platform. For some, the family resemblance was too close and they deemed the ILX unworthy.

Now there's a new Civic built on a new platform, and it outshines the ILX! The 2016 Civic has a wheelbase of 106 inches. Guess what... that's similar to the wheelbase on the old Acura TSX (106.5 inches I think).

In theory, a new ILX built on the new Civic platform should be pretty good, just like the TSX was. Are we coming full circle? But I don't think this will get us back to an Integra though.
As mentioned, the next Accord is based on the same platform as the 10th gen Civic.

Oh lol...that's why....

Yea, so that's what the Civic Type R should bring - AWD. To North America, it's simply just adding a Type R AWD variant to the US Civic line up.

Yep. The Si will be a FWD going up against the ST lineup, CTR will be AWD competing against STi/Golf R/FoRS.

One has 100k miles other has 75 k miles

They have never been to dealer

While we acura guys spend our days at dealer with tlx tranny problems etc all day long

Yes dealer service matters but if you don't have to go to the dealer it's the best case scenario
TLX is implementing new technology in much greater quantitiy so its understandable that there will be first year issues.
while 2010 and 2013 civics are decades old technology.

look at TSX 2009 engine bay and than look 1.5T civic engine bay. both cars similar widths. this 1.5T is so cluttered. I bet TSX engine sound will be more refined. i think if they have given the 8speed auto to TSX. the fuel economic and performance will be nearly identical.

Interesting to see the new Civic skips the engine valve cover. Any thoughts on why? To save weight?

Traditionally, the cover would help a tiny bit with noise reduction, but perhaps modern engines are already very quiet. But covers also add a nice "look." I remember the aluminum covers on the first generation Integras -- brown top (1986-887) and black top (1988-1989). The red covers were for the Type R.

I completely agree. I want the car to look like it's moving or at least look fast. So many cars look like they were never meant to move.

I hated the chrome version of that grille, but it looks pretty aggressive with the black chrome finish.

2016 Civic Coupe caught undisguised

http://www.civicx.com/threads/2016-h...disguised.666/

I don't know if it's the color or what but that's not nearly as attractive as the concept was.

That's probably because the concept has like 20" rims that look way nicer, non-truck-like ride height, a larger rear spoiler, and different front and rear bumpers.

I spotted the all-new Civic last week on the road. The front looks really good and the rear end is just OK.

But overall, it looked much more upscale than the outgoing generation, and it is much larger. I like it. Can't wait to see the Si variant!

stop fooling yourself. Honda will lose its competitive advantage when it loses one of the few bright spots - the superior ground clearance.

Front grille is very ugly.

Dual exhaust but it is hidden... too bad.

We all know that dual exhaust on most of the cars are more for the looks since it really does not offer anything more.

So this is the part i don't understand. Why did honda decide to offer an more aggressive dual exhaust look on a 4 banger (when we know it is absolutely not necessary) but decided not to show it? It is contradicting.

Yeah, rarely in a dual exhaust setup it is a true dual exhaust. But it looked good on the TSX and I think it could really make the Civic look sportier. But once again Honda makes some very questionable decisions...
