It's not ugly but it's not original either.

Love the interior though. Very driver oriented/ cockpit feel.

Amazing, love everything but the rear.
Great interior as well, about the only sore point of the C6.

Does anyone else feel like they took a really interesting design and overdid it?

Maybe it flows better in person. Just looks very busy.

Ordered in white.

Oh my freaking rod.

Edit: Stepping back and taking it in as a whole, the style is akin to the 599. I love it.

Edit 2: So to speak.

Not original, but looks badassed. I like it.

Will be in Detroit for the NAIAS to see it in person.

Not giving up the V for that, though, that would be a step down in horsepower for the base models and GS, not to mention refinement.

My favorite shot.....

I love my C6 Vert' too much to get rid of it. But, once a Z06/ZR1 version of this comes out, I'm adding one to the stable, also in White

From AutoBlog:

"More interestingly, the all-new seven-speed manual is a Tremec unit, and it incorporates rev-matching for both downshifts and upshifts (it's also defeatable via a steering-wheel paddle). We've seen rev-matching tech before, but generally such systems only goose the throttle on downshifts. This system is predictive, too, in that it "sees" which gate the gearshift lever is going and adjusts its response in anticipation."

x 2.

The design could have been a lot cleaner, and the rectangular theme of the rear just looks wrong to me.
The outside looks are secondary to the interior for me, thank goodness.

first look of the steering wheel kinda made me go ... it took me a while to realize it was meant to resemble a Stingray..

while the taillights don't bother me that much, I do think it would have looked better with traditional round ones.

I've never really been too excited about base model Vettes.. I mean they have just kind of been "OK". This is the first time I've been excited about the base model. I can't wait to see the Z06!

Yea, that's part of the fun on these cars, esp. after some long tubes

I'm surprised a Vert' wasnt revealed. The Convertible is iconic in Corvette history, being the 1st vette produced in 53'. They likely did not want to eat into the 427 Vert' nostalgia/sales. The Vert's are always more sexy (with the top down for sure). Looking forward to seeing the Vert'.

I'm sorry, could you repeat that? I thought you said something about a convertible.

definitely has grown on me since first seeing it. Really like everything except the rear.

Highway fuel economy must be relatively amazing with DI implement as well as a 7-speed manual. Dunno how I feel about cylinder deactivation, maybe it'll only be on the auto.

Good point. It's easy to forget about this car's history, in a sea of so many other amazing cars. Indeed I thought myself this car had lost it's soul as a Corvette and had posted about that somewhere in the past weeks. But if you look at this car, you will see it has all the dramatic swoopy curves and lines that have been hallmarks of the Corvette since it's inception. Sure it has design cues from other makes, but don't forget this is nothing new, the C6 had Ferrari in it as well - namely headlight design and style from the 360 Modena (painted inner housing and projector lamps, along with similar design). Not a big deal. This car may end up being the bargain of the century. Look at what you're getting for mid 50's. Amazing.

interior: good enough
rear:

I knew Chevy was going to ruin it with Camero taillights. I haven't liked a single redesign of theirs after the bailout. Malibu ruined Silverado ruined and now the Vette. At least they haven't gotten to the Cruze yet. Also, I like gauges to be.. real. It's like analog vs digital watches.
