Looks like the old TL-S from the front and a 7ish rear. It looks American to me, like an old Chrysler with the cab foward look (the front overhang is huge). Overall better than the new RL but way behind the E class, M45, GS, A6, even the 5.
Interior looks very good.

I just noticed in that last picture, it trunk sort of looks like tone downed version of the BMW trunk much like the 5 series version.
And I think the exhaust pipes are a little too big for this type of car. They would look more in place on a sports car, not a flagship luxury sedan

I doubt it's the color. Nearly every concept or introduction is a silver car. The new TL looks way better than this. I can't believe some of the hype people made about this car and this is what we got. 300V-6, AWD, we'll see the performance specs?
Hell where is Acura going with this car? Sporty? Luxury? Both?

I think it's funny that after almost 10 years, this is what they could think of. The M35/45 ownsz this period. Battle of the M35/45 vs GS 330/430 is gonna be sweet!

Actually, if I'm not mistaken...he does like Infiniti/Nissan...so, it's not all hate. Everybody rambles...he's just a good rambler...

I think where BMW will struggle is not if there cars are better or not but are they 10, 15, 20k better. We get more 530 shoppers looking at TLs than 330 buyers. And most say the same thing The BMW is just not 12K better than this car.

ug.... that front end!!! It just looks wrong to me for some reason. Like it curves downward a little too much and is snub-nosed, not a lengthy aggressive look that a flagship car should have. Maybe it's the camera angles though.

interesting: the above picture of the console and shifter is slightly different on Acura's website. Check out the gallery in the new RL mini-site and you will see that the area where the shifter is looks a little nicer
(i would post a link but I couldnt)

The pics at the NY Auto Show at vtec.net make the RL look much nicer than the press release photos.
The front end seems so much more substantial and less like a Camry. In person, I bet this car will look pretty nice.

This pic changed my mind about the RL. The other pics look bland and camry. This black one looks ++++ better. The more I see the RL the more it grows on me like the TL

Dude this car is hot! Did anyone else get the email from Acura today announcing the new RL Prototype officially?
It says it has a REAL-TIME TRAFFIC FEATURE, as part of the nav.
Go here to see the Acura's RL macromedia which features NEW gallery pics

heyitsme,
Those are nice pics of the show. I'm now really warming up to this car. The more pics I see, the more I like it. I think it will be really hot in the anthracite color.
I'm looking forward to seeing other interior colors. I hope they do a Quartz like the TL. A Camel would also be interesting to see. However, I'm still not too fond of the wood. The brown stain used is too bland. I wish they would stain it dark gray/black like in the Lexus LS430. With a Quartz or Camel interior, this brown toned wood may not work so well.
I also wonder what type of wood Acura is using. The grain pattern is un-interesting and it seems cheap.
I also wonder if that's real aluminum on that center dash waterfall.

Just like i thought, this car will be much bigger in person than it looks in pics. Thank god!
Look at how big the car is compared to the people around it.
Only thing bothering me is that fake looking wood. The current RL looks to have better looking wood than that!

I wouldnt go that far. Styling wise maybe but i think the new RL blows away the new GS and M45 with its technolgy. :P
Also dont forget how long it took Infiniti to finally make a decent product which wasnt untill last year. IMO

I think all 3 are pretty even technology wise. And I totally agree with the Infiniti statement. I still couldn't buy a new one, knowing in 2 years it will be worth crap. So why not just wait 2 years and buy a damn good car!
