Hi all,

So we've been hearing a lot about various problems with the 04 TL (tires, vibration, rattles, fit/finish issues, etc), but as many have mentioned, happy people are much less likely to post their satisfaction...

My guess is that the majority of people are quite happy with their TL and lurk here quietly without comment. I therefore thought it might be interesting to have a poll on the group's experiences with their new cars.

Acura needs to reply promptly to some of the issues:

Leather
Check Engine Light
Memory seats
flat spotting
glove box

 

No significant problems but bloody hate the tires.

By the way I still own my TSX.

 

My only complaint is the large number of rattles, especially since I'm having trouble pinpointing them.

 

No significant problems, but I like the ride of the Michelins on my TSX (750 miles) better than the Bridgestones on My TL (325 miles).

 

I'm generally satisfied, but two problems. The memory seats lose the memory frequently, and a rattle in the dash.

I've narrowed the rattle down to the glove box door. When I leave it open, there is no rattle. The dealer put some foam padding in to try to tighten up the fit. No effect. Anyone have any ideas?

On the seat memory, the dealer told me to bring it in and they'd check it out. I had to take off from work to come in when they could "fit" me in. Then they told me Acura was aware of the problem, but had no fix yet. Why they couldn't have told me that on the phone is beyond me. Is anyone else with the seat problem still waiting on a fix?

Even so, I still love the car. The acceleration and handling are sweet.

I had two issues with the glove box, it rattled on delivery, which they fixed while I signed the papers, the striker was too far forward, so they adjusted it back to make it tighter (if you had your passenger push on it while moving it went away). Then it came back, the dealer found out from Acura that if the glove box is removed for adjustment, or other, the mounting clips MUST be replaced or it will rattle (which it did), all fixed after that.
