Question Wiring Issues??

Ok so i have 2 JL w7 12's on a AQ 2200D and i have no idea why it is not playing. It was working perfect besides from a small voltage issue and one day it started making this sputtering rumbling noise.

The noise it was making is really hard to describe never heard anything like it. I guess another way to say it is it sounded like i was playing a RD super heavyweight 18 on a 500 watt amp.

Me and my friend freaked thinking it was the voice coils. So we take the subs and amp out hook them up to his car and it works perfect. Put it back in my car and it goes to shit again. Thinking it was my wiring we double checked everything and everything looked as it should be.

The only difference in my car and my friends car is that he has a aftermarket HU and i still got my stock one.

Sorry for the poor description and TY for all future help

Since you have access to do so (friend), why don't you swamp amps also. Then you'll know it's not the amp or sub. And that it might be wiring or headunit from there.

we did that when we took the subs out we took the amp out also to see if maybe the board came lose or burnt up...but it all worked fine once it was in his car.

First I'd check the ground.

I assume you are using a LOC and tapped into the amp in the rear?(not a TSX guy)

I'd check the LOC and the wiring from stock amp to LOC. The only other wire should be power wire, which should be fine.

My guess is the LOC.

loc's can die very quickly.Check and see if the rca outputs on the loc are loose. They have always been loose on the one's I seen that failed.

we thought it might have been the LOC also

i have a LC7 audiocontrol to help boost my HU's signal. But when we put everything back into my car we changed it out for a regular LOC and it still wouldnt work.

i will go back and check on the ground this weekend its currently grounded off on the back deck. I think it might be that.
