Unhappy tsx nav-video converter

so i just got the nav-video converter, its the "nav-tv" brand. the instructions say to hook the Y-harness to the 20 pin connector on the back of the HU. I took out that under pocket and That connector looks impossible to reach ! Does that 20 pin connector go straight to the stock amp ? i talked to a local installer and says it will cost me 250 dollers for the install, cuz he has to remove the radio. what do you guys think ?

There's plenty of DIY on converters in the main sticky in this forum. Did you even look there first?

yes i have...thanks.. i saw 2 units, a DOM's and another one, that both connect behind the nav in the trunk, i have also seen a thread with the wire swaps for the harness to connect it to the hu or the nav disc unit. However, i would like to keep mines behind the HU, and i have located the 20 pin connector to pull out however cannot get my fingers in there. thats why i asked... its okay

I could be wrong but I thought there was one also that was installed in the passenger kick panel. It was easier access to the wires but still close enough to the headunit.

I could be wrong though as I'm not a TSX guy but I swear I remember a thread on that.

i appreciate your input, but i have searched. i have not built up the confidence yet to rip out my hu just to get to that connector, so i guess ill shed the money over to the pro's.

Hmmmmmm..... That's a lot of money for a pretty simple install. I wouldn't pay more then $150 if I was you. Shouldn't take more then a hour.

What's your location? Maybe someone from the site will lend a hand.
