What Settings on DLS Amp?

Hi so I have some time tonight to tear apart my system again and rework everything. The problem was that there was some sort of static noise in the rcas. I took care of that last night when I soldered everything together.

Tonight I'm installing the RCE269s with the tweeters. I want the tweeters just because its my personal preference of having sound all around me and not just from the front.

The questions are:

1) Filters? Channels A/B C/D should be on high pass...but what settings?
2) Gain? How much is adaquate or what should I look for when setting them?
3) Bass Boost?...umm not sure if this applies to my system
4) Rear Tweeter location? (Currently decided on mounting them next to the door handle...flat....possilbly i could mount them lower where the perforated leather is. What you think?
5) Any suggestions or things that I should double check?

Thanks guys!

The biggest problem with using the tweeters on the RCE269 is that the midrange output from the woofer is much louder than the bass output (like it is with most woofers).

So, your bass output is less relative to their midrange output. If you want the RCE269 to play bass, it won't seem like they play much, because the voices will drown it out to some degree.

What amp do you have and what front speakers do you ahve? And which channels are "front" and which are "rear"?

What about wiring them differently? I have RCE216s in the front. I want to utilize all the tweeters but yeah you are right the bass output isnt that much. What do you think?

I think you should try not using the tweeters and setting the rear to LP and to 100 and the front to HP and to 80.

I have my CA41 in my car set to about 65... but I don't run those MBQuarts in front either.

I think my front gains are set to 25% in my TSX and the rear gains are at about 40%.

No bass boost.

Thanks...your right Eld...I did what you said. It sounds great but the issue now is that the deck rattles more than a snake. I will try to dampen it with vbloc and polyfill to see if that helps.

For the future...how would it be possible to run those tweeters?

Why? Sell them on eBay...

I stuffed foam padding between the R deck and the trim tray, and I also put some vmax on the bottom of the metal shelf from underneath in the trunk. The foam padding was the biggest thing, though...

foam weather stripping is a big improvement.

Why would you want to add an 8" sub to a set of 6x9s?

Have you seen our 10" prebuilt sub box?
