what do you think???

I am puttin my system together and is stumped on the sub. I have been searching around for the best affordable sub. I came out with these

Infinity Perfect 12.1D x 2
Dei Comp X x2
Image Dynamic ID MAX12 x 1
Kicker SolarBaric 15L7 x 1
Kickers Solarbarics 12L7 x 1 or 2

I DONT KNOW which one to get. They are all in the same price range within $50 and they are all VERY VERY good subs

I think I might settle for the 15L7 but dont know if it will fit in out TLS trunks. ANy input would be nice. THANKS!!!

Rest of the set up

-Rockford Fosgate 800a2 amp
-Rockford Fosgate 400a4
-Dei 3065 6 1/2
-Dei Pro plus 6 1/2
-Clarions 6" tv THE one in the orange supra in FAST AND THE FURIOuS
-Pioneer DEH-8400M
-Playstaion 2
-Sub one ofthe Above

Thanks for any input. Much appreciated.

BG,

One question is what you are looking for, SQL or SPL or some percentage of the two (50/50)? Also, how much space do you want to loose in your trunk?

Of the ones you mentioned, I would put the IDMAX way at the top of the list followed by the Perfects. However, I am not familiar with the DEI or SoloBaric subs.

There are plenty of subs to look at out there. Another real good SQL sub is the Adire Audio Brahma. It is about on par with the IDMAX although it requies a little more power but uses a smaller box.

If you want SQL I would recommend going with an IDMAX or Brahma in a sealed box (1.4 or 1.0 respectively). If you want more SPL, you definitely need to look at porting the subs but that will require much larger boxes.

Still thinking...

I know SQl stands for sound quality level but I dont know what SPL. My friends told me that the 15's are too low. I want loud clean bass. I SERIOUSLY stumped on this one. Each sub contain their own goods and bads. I wnat to hear more suggestion or breakdown before I make my decision. I know street effet is a PRO at this. If you see this message homie SOME INput will cut like 20 hours of my research. Any other input will also be nice. I want loud and CLEAN. Kinda picky. Price is not that much of a factor but I cant afford to spend like $500 on a sub. THANKS

SQ - Sound Quality
SPL - Sound Pressure Level (Loud, but who cares how it sounds!)
SQL - Sound Quality Level (Loud, but sounds good too!)

In my opinion you have one option with the power you have.

Get an IDMAX and build a 1.42 cu.ft. box (1.3 after driver displacement). This would sound great with some decently loud output if you were ever interested.

Adire Audio Brahma's are also good subs but some people say they need over 1,000 watts before they start to get loud.

If you want to go a little cheaper, I would recommend a couple of Image Dynamics IDQ 12s ($150 ea.) in 1 cu.ft. boxes. Two should be pretty loud and definitely sound good.

Hope this helps.

Sup bud Bet you thought I disappeared eh? Well...let me offer a tip...Kicker sucks. Period. The square L7's make no design sense...the sound wave propagates radially...but the cone is square, that distorts sound. The voice coil cross section is round...but the cone is square...so the piston force is not evenly distributed. Lastly quite a few were recalled...and many of those who I have installed for have told me they had to send the sub back for warranty work. In summary...not a good choice.

I would suggest JL Audio, as I always do...w6's in the $150 range, or w7's in the $450 range. I'm running w7's...and I can tell you after tweaking a pair in my brother's Grand Cherokee...they will blow out your windshields. The other brands listed are also good choices. But I'm a die hard JL fan

koo

Good input so far. I thought the kickers were good because they won awards and stuff but I dunno. THis is what I mean. You hear one thing and it means another.

AUSTIN.. damn where you been. Havent hear from you for a while. How many w 7's you runing in you TLS. I know they Knock like crazy but kinda costly but $450 per is a good ass price. Maybe you can hook me up with some w7's. I think I am leaning towards the Id max but I dunno if I should run 1 or 2. W7's are koo though. I wont mind running those in my ride. HEy if you can hok it up for $450. HOLLA BACK!!!

Thanks for all the input. A few but good enough i guess

Id have to agree with Aust|n519 the w7's rock. there only downfall is price but if you got the dough then spend it on JL.

Together one w7 and one JL1000.1 amp in most places would probably run you close to 1k. and thats without a box =*(

I know the H0112R-W7 which is the w7 sub and the HO custom box from JL is unbelievable. but costs about 650-750 dollars. So your looking at about 1250 for a box amp and sub. and ONE is extremly loud and accurate.

Hope my input helped
