Tweeter

Hello, i'm new. I have no doubt that this topic has been brought up before so I apologize in advance, however, would anyone know or have a link to a thread about putting in tweeters into my 2000 Tl and not making any other changes aside from whatever needs to be added to split the signal between high and mid. I know that replacing the bose is ideal but I don't want to mess with it to much let alone spend all that money. My personal preference is to have the tweeters on the pillars or at ear level at the door ( as a side note)

Thank You

hummmm... to be honest you are wasting your time and money by adding tweeters to the stock bose system.. not to mention that the tweeters are going to really over power everything by putting them at ear level... my suggestion save up your money and replace the door speakers with some decent speakers and an after market amp... but if this is what you have your heart set on try using the search function and you will find all kinds of threads on this subject..

Thank You for your reply. Regarding the tweeters, I had thought that they belong at ear level becuase that is how they were positioned on my I30. Also, if the speakers were to be replaced (w/ new amps) would I still be able to run them from the stock head unit?

Thank You

you can replace the stock door speakers and power them with a new headunit and still retain the stock headunit.. there have been several people on this forum that have done this type of install..
