TSX tweeter install questions...

What did you guys do when you replaced the tweeter? Did you just strip the wires, or is there a way to use the existing connector? I'm trying not to cut the wires if I don't have to....

Also, when hooking up to an external amp, how did you guys connect the crossovers? I have separate high pass and low pass filters for the 6.5" drivers and the tweeters, how should I connect them? should I connect them to the same two channels of the amp?

elduderino's avincar tweeters came with t-taps. You just snap them onto the wires just below the connector. This way, you can remove them and restore the original tweeter on the same connector anytime you want.

Do you have any pics of this T-tap? Where can I get this, without having to get them shipped from Ken, if he even sells them at all?

You can get these at radioshack man. Just ask the nerd there, but they are in one of the pullout bins and cost about $2 for a box of 10.

T-taps.. that's too easy. I can't believe when I did mine I cut off the connectors, stripped and soldered them. That took me forever to get right cause I had to be super careful not to burn the car and still make good connections, not to mention there is like zero room to move there thanks to the placement and angle of winshield. grrrr. </rant>

Yes, the wires are too short to work with.

T-taps should be available at any auto parts store too. Get 3M T-Tap brand.

Also, the other question I have....... How did you guys connect the tweeter, crossovers, drivers? Are they all going to be fed through the same two channels?
