I would like to improve my current factory sound system for the TSX and after reading several posts, the best initial upgrade w. "bang for the buck" would be to replace the speakers.

Since I prefer not to have an installer monkey around w. my door panels and possibly damage them, can anyone recommend a place in Long Island, NY that has done TSX speaker upgrades previously? I have read the posts about DIY speaker upgrades and I don't currently trust myself in doing all that dis/assembly work.

This is a TSX speaker upgrade kit that will come with spacers specifically designed to fit the TSX and failsafe instructions to do it yourself. It's intended to drop right in with little install skill.

Whichever you choose, I wouldnt sell yourself short on installing it yourself though. Members here have created very in depth do it yourself with picture posts on removing the doorpanels and other parts of the TSX without problem. Go find the speakers you feel are best for your application and post here. We can direct you to the threads with instructions. Good luck.

 

I can strongly recommend Brooklyn Best Audio--7808 New Utrecht Ave, Brooklyn, 11214 - (718) 236-2848. Their approach emphasizes musicality over flash. Master craftsman as well. Yes, I know it's not Long Island but it's well worth the trip. Ask for Marco.

 

Why do you recommend them? I too am looking for a place to do a quick factory-speaker replacement and would feel much more comfortable with a place who does Acuras (esp. TSXs) regularly.

I’m out in Brookhaven Suffolk County; Just swapping the speakers is not that hard if you’re handy.

I actually live in Astoria, Queens. Close to the city. It's not a question of ease as much as it is having the time, tools, inclination and tolerance for things breaking, scratches, etc. I've read all the instructions and pix posted on this site and, to your point, it doesn't seem overly complicated. However, I like the insides of my car to remain pristine so if i can pay a professional to do the job with no problems or side effects, it's worth my money. All that being said, are there any recommendations for top-notch shops who would guarantee this sort of work?
