TSX sound system upgrade.

Hello, I went to the audio express store looking to upgrade the sound system in my 2005 TSX .....I am not that up-to-speed on the ins and outs of upgrading stereo systems. The sales dude told me that I couldn't change the existing speakers in the car because it was a surround sound system and that I would have to rewire the entire system and change everything about it. All i was looking for was to add a little Bass not change everything. I don't really want the box in the truck so everyone else can hear it.

Is the sales guy blowing smoke?
what can I do to get a little more Bass in the TSX?

thanks!!!!

The sales guy is wrong as you can upgrade any part of the sound system, but price is a factor as unless you are going to do it yourself upgrading to a Aftermarket HU and amp setup can add up fast. Do some searches as there is alot you can do. I did an aftermarket HU, Amp and speakers a few months back I did it myself as most dealers wanted over 1k to do the install.

Are you looking to upgrade the amp as well? I originally used the OEM amp with new door speakers and 6x9's Everything sounded great. There wasn't that much more bass, but at least the 6x9's weren't popping when I turned it up. Now I have new amps as well.

The sales dude is an idiot. Do not go back to that store because if they hire guys like that to sell audio stuff then they are idiots too.

For better bass you can replace the rear 6x9 speakers with better ones or, for even more bass, you can add an amp and a sub. Plenty of member here have done both. I suggest you get familiar with the search feature as there are plenty of threads on TSX speaker replacements.
