If your doing a 2 channel amp for subs, you don't need to access the amp at all. You just need to tag a line out converter to the rear speakers leads in the trunk. If the amp has a high level input, you don't need to use a LOC if you don't want to. If its a 4 channel for 4 speakers, its not going to be as easy...

Actually it is... You just need a 4 channel LOC.

OP, get your signal from the back of the hu, rather than the rear speakers. It'll be easier on your LOC (unless you get one designed for the amplified signal that the speakers see) and you'll get a better sound if you tap the wires behind the hu, rather than at at the amp in the trunk.

Oh, and search next time, this question has been answered about 10-12 times on this page and the next page of this subforum...

If you consider taking a radio out as easy as sticking your head in the trunk, then by all means....

Currently, not much. Pioneer DEH-6900ub, Arc Audio IDX, RF 450.4, Bravox Audio ESX6's. Yet to be installed or on the way are some Rainbow CAL-25s, AA Chaos 10s, and a Sundown 1500D. Electrical upgrades are an XS Power D5100R (replacing stock) and some 1/0. There's a very out of date build log on here, but it's been buried a couple pages back. It's not the best looking setup, but even with the only 2 speakers, it sounds better than almost any stock system I've heard. I can't wait to get the tweets and subs installed when they get here...
