Again, we apologize that you had a defective item and causing all the inconvenience. In the future if anyone have any question, please feel free to email us at info@hidextra.com, contact us at 1860-821-8212, or we even have live chat on our web site www.hidextra.com

First bought my fog kit earlier in May and they crapped out after 2 weeks. Turned out that the ballast was defective but HIDextra was really good about replacements and sent one shortly after a week or so (which I'm happy about). However, the second set also crapped out after just a week and now I'm left with just one side working. The colors and lighting output were great while they were working but it's just too much of a hassle to go through all the trouble of doing this (having to go through the bumper to install it, then go through it again to inspect whether it's the ballast or the bulb/change back to stock, then install it once again when the replacement comes).

I'm kind of in the process of debating if I'd want to go through the trouble of doing another replacement or just get a refund and try my luck elsewhere for better reliability seeing as how defective items are quite common among other members. I'm a college student and I don't exactly have the time nor desire to have to take off my bumper all the time for this product.

Not to bash on the company but I feel like they should have a better explaination than a "defective system" since so many people have gotten non-working products (and I myself have gotten 2 defective ballasts in a row). I'd really like to have a more permanent solution than just getting more replacements from the company if I want to stick with their product.

we do offer warranty, if you have something that's not working, we will replace it right away. But if it's the whole kit having issue, please send the kit back to us and we can test it for you.

Seems like you're not getting any group-buyers. I just bought a kit from e-bay and it's flickering like crazy - it's going back, thanks to paypal claims.

I am willing to try yours for $ 40 shipped. Let me know - the H11 bulb, 6000k temp

So I bought this kit about a year ago and it worked great UNTIL.. I hit a normal size pothole (nothing crazy huge) and bye bye went my entire passenger side ballast and light right out of the fog light position. The zip ties provided are not the best and the sticky pad on the back side of the ballast isn't all that sticky as times goes..

Just an fyi for you guys looking to buy this.

You can see ours compare to others. On the left, the light is flickering the whole time. poorly made HID kits will flicker. it's not the installation but simply a bad kit.
google "flickering hid" or http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...x=1&fp=1&cad=b
my new kit i bought flickers when sitting a light you notice it alot and now they just crapped out and dont even work at all anymore. the reason i went with this kit is cause i didnt want ebay crap but i still got ebay crap anyway.

my issue is, do you pay for the ticket, or the wreck the failure causes? Its a safety product, this is not cool.

I bought the 3000K kit for my foglamps about a month ago. Ive been very happy with it so far.
The kit is identical to every other HID kit being sold online, but with hidextra there's at least some accountability and quality control. Good luck getting customer service from one of the eBay sellers in China.

As someone mentioned before, the supplied tape is useless. I used some 3M 5952 VHB (Very High Bond) tape for the ballasts and placed a little black silicone around the edges for water. I also wrapped the connectors in black electrical tape.
The 3M tape is pretty amazing, and easily found on eBay.

I bought some 6k bulbs from HIDEXTRA for my CL-S about a year ago and no issues at all. Why are people buying the whole kit when most Acuras have factory HID's?

2 scenarios come to mind:

A) To replace halogen fog lights.
B) To replace the expensive OEM inverter(s) when they fail.

it's between 1~2%. It's really sad that most of people only post the problem they had but when everything works great, there is nothing posted....

I notice a lot of recent post on ballast issues.

However, I do have to say that I bought a kit for my Camry last year and it worked fine for almost a year. I finally had to take it out when I traded the car in.

iv bout a couple kits from hidextra. they work pretty well.
the only thing i was weary about is when we installed a kit in my friends Jeep Grand cherokee. when he shut off the lights it would strobe like a police car for 30-45secs. i called hidextra and they told me it was fine and that i wouldnt need any extra relays or anything like that and that it would not cause a fire when i asked if it could since it didnt look safe at all to me. i asked if ppl have run into this problem and she said that a couple people have flickering issues but it as suppose to be like that. that DEF didnt sound right to me so i did some of my own research on a jeep forum and sure enough i need a relay harness. it worked but the girl on the phone was either new or didnt know what she was talkin about.
found out Jeeps use Canbus systems that require either a relay or a custom relay spliced into the relay harness like we had to do with a Jeep Sahara.
not bashing the company but wish the person on the phone knew more about what is needed for diff makes of cars.
GOOD kits though either way.

no luck with bulbs

i bought a pair of 5000k bulbs for my 2005 tl because of one finally went pink on me. got them in and installed them and both would come on for about 10 sec then start flickering then shut off. i tried my old bulb on both sides and everything works fine. so i live chat and talk to karen and she warrantys out the bulbs. i got the new ones in yesterday and what do you know. they do the same thing. i did go back to there site and i noticed they no longer carry d2s bulbs now. very interesting. i guess there having alot of problems with these. wish they stop carrying them before i ordered them. thats what i get for buying from a vendor on here.

Please kindly swap the ballast from the none working side to the working side and see if the problem follows the ballast or the bulb, then email me your results, order # and full name to info@hidextra.com so I can get you instructions to get a new replacement part.

HIDExtra

Bought 2 kits from HIDExtra several months ago. 1 kit was for the fogs in my CX9 and 1 for the accord fogs in the TL. 2 complaints only. The color is not factory and are white/blueish to me. Does not match up well at all. The other complaint I have is the H11 bulb I received does not fit the 04 Accord fogs on the TL. Currently using electrical tape to hold in place until I receive a new kit for DDM Tuning. Overall, the kits are holding up well.

Customer service is very responsive.

Happy New Year to all..

Bought my H11 fog light kit last year. About a month ago my passenger side went out completely. After sending HIDextra the bad parts, they sent me a whole new kit for the passenger side.

This time, the ballast was different design than the one I originally bought, but it wasn't a problem. Hooked everything up and turned on the fog light. First thing I notice was a loud crack/pop sound. I thought the bulb might have blown so I come out to the front of the car and the light is on. I go back turn off the light, wait a few seconds turn it back on and the same crack/pop sound came on again. I guess this is normal for the newer kits?

Second thing I notice was the bulb was touching the metal shield inside the fog light lamp. I tried gently moving the bulb around while it was still in the lamp so it wouldn't touch the shield. I barely put any pressure on it and one of the tabs snapped. It's feels pretty secured, but man that's just cheap material snapping so easily.

Last thing was the light output, it was a yellow greenish color instead of the full yellow color I originally had. So now one fog light is yellow green and the other side is yellow.

Besides all of that the service was excellent. Quality of the kits are so so. I'm happy with it.

Update:

Looks like the passenger side ballast went out again. Maybe that loud crack/pop sound wasn't normal after all. The bulb still works, I plugged it into the working driver side ballast and it lights up.

I'm a proud owner of the 6000k kit for my 2000 TL. I originally went to autozone and ONE BULB was $100 and of course that seemed like too much. A little research and I found the two bulb/two ballast kit for $60. There aren't a TON of instructions that come with the kit and for me (who has no repair experience at all) sort of had to figure some things out as I went. There are pleny of install videos on youtube though and I got some help from here. I'm three days in, and I'm VERY pleased with my choice of 6000k and of the kit itself. It took a couple days of working on it in the evenings to get them installed though lol...I blame myself more than anything but I got them to work and I'm satisfied.

Bought 5000k fog kid from hid extra a little while back with the 35w ballast and I was expecting a true white color that matched the oem low beam hid. I got a blue tint that wasn't too bad but that wasn't what I wanted. So instead I ordered the 3000k and got switchback signals. I installed the 3000ks today and they emitted a greenish tint instead of the bright yellow I was expecting.

Is the problem that the ballasts aren't strong enough and I need a 55 watt?

ordered 2 sets on Sunday received them today quick shipping..

3k should be a yellow, 55 watt washes out the tints

IE: 55watt 6k should look like 5k.

I just bought a 8000K kit for my CL-S and was wondering if most people just replaced the bulb or spliced in the harness like the company recommended?

Also I read a couple of posts back, that we don't need the entire kit and just the bulb if that was the case. I just wanted to confirm?
