Subs bumping the 6x9's

Hey guys , I just threw in my 2 12" Rockfords yesturday and Hifonics amp. When the bass hits , I hear a loud rattle from the back deck , What have u guys used on the back deck to prevent this , also my third brake light rattles against the back window pretty bad . U can't use dynomat on the deck because the bottom is carpet . Also my 6x9's feel and sound like their gonna blow out the top when the subs are on . What can I do to prevent the bass from the subs pushing up my speakers .

Huh? Why can't you dynamat the rear deck? Just remove the cover and put it down on the metal frame. Piece of cake.

Nah , tried that , It still vibrates and so does the third brake light . I was thinking of spraying the bottom w/ undercoating or something along that line .

I cut a grey washrag in half and stuffed it at the base of the rear window (where the rear deck meets the glass). It put enough of a gap between the brake light and the glass to stop the rattling. Just my

I ripped out my rear deck and made my own. I also have a huge hole between my 6x9's. I'll show you next tiem I come home. The new rear deck is made of foam and it's the shit. It looks like i don't even have speakers in the back and I can take it out easily so I can adjust my Teins.

Post some pics cause my project will be started in a couple of weeks . Haven't decided on carpet or fiberglass though but the dynomat and sound deadening will start next week .

I don't have any pics of the deck. It never crossed my mind since no one even knows that I have a different deck, plus you can't see anything with the tints in the back.

Bose 6x9's

Many car audio stores have what they call sound baffles. They are a foam cover for the 6x9's that screw/glue onto the underneath of the rear deck. They cost around $20 for both. They stop the air from hitting the bottom of the speaker.
