Stereo upgrade
Ok..I've been trolling the forum looking at my options for upgrading the factory system. There are a couple questions I haven't been able to answer, though. From what I gather the Bose headunit has preout's for it's own EQ..does anyone KNOW what voltage these are at? Right now I'm looking at getting a half din EQ to maintain the factory seamless integrated look (and avoid paying $200 for a piece of plastic dash kit). The plan is to use the factory deck, into the aftermarket EQ (which takes 950mV-9.6V input), back to the amp in the trunk. Will this work WELL? Thanks!
Planned system:
Factory deck
Kicker KQ5 Equalizer in-dash
Lightning Bolt 1.0 Farad Cap
Kenwood KAC-959 5 channel amp
4x Infinity Kappa 50.5cs
2x Infinity Kappa 100.1se (10")

I was faced with this same problem about a year ago. I stumbled upon a site called Audio Link which sells adaptors for Bose audio systems. All I had to do was buy the adaptor and a special wiring harness and presto!! RCA outs to the amplifiers.....
Before the signal reached the amps, I had an Audiocontrol Three. One EQ installed in the small tray above the radio. I remember a few people doing the same thing about a month ago with pics included. The EQ fits perfectly in the open tray.
Well, I've been using this setup for about a year now and want to upgrade to an aftermarket unit (with mp3, time correction, ect) and will be selling the adaptor and EQ sometime next month. Check out Audio Link at www.linkmeup.com and see what they offer. I have the PD4 if your interested......good luck!
