Stealth Radar, Wtf????
I know that the V1 is the best in the market, but K40 and Escort has Stealth models where they hook up sensors to the front and back of the car to detect the cops. Does anyone have one and are they worth the 600 for it.

Well...
Those 'stealth' units have been out for awhile, they might possibly be a little better than the 'standalone' units because you have sensors that you put on the back (generally a license plate bracket) and the front of the vehicle.
The only problem with these units is that once you install them on your car, they're pretty much permanent, and it's a bitch to remove them. They generally all require a permanent DC connection so you're hard wiring that bad boy in, and then there's always the extra cable you have to run for the sensors.
Now the good thing is these suckers are pretty much theft proof

Only state is VA. They are really undetectable to the eye. Don't know if they outperform a V1, cause each has it's own +'s & -'s. Read

They have some good info on what the differences are. Just don't look at there tests. Their tests are rigged.

Wrong answer.
Radar detectors are illegal in Connecticut, Virginia and Washington, DC. If there are anymore bastard jurisdictions, let us all know.
You should be able to get away with it, especially if it has VG-2 protection, but if the cop knows what they look like, then you are screwed. You'll never have that problem in Wash DC though, they are about as smart as donut holes!

Go to Valentines website. It explains about "jammers" and answers many questions about their detector and others.
I've had mine for about three years, and haven't been pulled over because of radar yet (although I've been "hit" by radar daily).
I was pulled over once by an unmarked dodge stealth, but he was tracking me for miles (not radar). I assumed he was just following me because I was making good time. Got lucky, and gave me a warning!
You absoultly cannot go wrong with the V1. And as the website says, it's VG-2 proof.

Not anymore in CT. They allowed them about 5 years ago. Now it's just down to VA and DC. There are several states that still make them illegal for commerical vehicles over 26,000 lbs (NY is one).
