Alpine CVA-1005 mated with a DVA5200 and CHA-S634. Still working on matching the custom double din piece to the dash a little better. All-in-all, pretty straight forward install.

looks nice, are you going to sand/paint it like how people did with the Metra kits?
i was also wondering, does that play DVD's? im confused on why is there 3 units, and which would be cheaper, a unit that has the CD slot already (all in one?) or something like you got with a screen, tuner/etc...
thanks

that's one reason the merging of audio&video threads can be confusing.

The flip out unit is just the commander and screen, it has no source for CD/DVD, that is why there are additional units. The unit also in the dash is the CD/DVD/VCD player, then of course there is the hide-a-way brain, and the changer out in the trunk.
Yep, all installed in my 2003 Acura TL-S.

I'll answer that... they are all Alpine top-of-the-line pieces, but are not new (and look a bit used: )... he either already had them or bought them discounted.
I helped with a car that had a similar setup - CL-S with a PXA-701 controller and the DVD player, and we pulled the Navi screen up top and put in the Alpine LCD with navi display and the IR pickup so that the remote ran everything...
I would suggest using a veneer of dark gray or flat black Formica laminate over the kit ... fill the gaps, fix the surface, and not a lot of prep work...

Yea, most of this stuff was from my previous install, I just wanted to install it in my Acura for the time being.
Brain is for the screen, but also controls the changer and DVD through Alpine's Ai-Net. Pretty slick, one cable for power, ground, remote, and signal.

Nice man...I like it! I like the mp3 changer especially...!!
I'm thinking about adding a DVD/mp3 changer in my car later. I just wish that Pioneer would come out with something like this.
