i'm gonna go pick up these speakers today. once i installed the subwoofers i knew i was done for. now i am totally obsessed with upgrading the audio system. oh well, there are worse addictions out there for sure.

The reason I asked is that the 6x9s act like subwoofers already. If you have seperate subwoofers already installed then I don't think you'll notice any improvement from the 6x9 replacement. The next step would be the 6.5 door speaker replacement. (as you already said)

i put in the type s 6x9s before i got my sub and it was a great improvement. now my sub takes the 'sub' frequency the 6x9s got, and im gonna wire my 6x9s as full range speakers - well, i wont do it, my friend will who is a car audio guy. and now i just have type r doors sitting waiting for me to decide whether or not i wanna cut the doors to make them fit. maybe this weekend ill finally finish my setup...
