Remote start in '06 - what is lost?
I'm thinking of putting a remote start and possibly an alarm in my '06 TSX and I know that right now when I unlock using the driver 1 fob I get the driver 1 memory settings and all.
Now if I were to put in a remote car starter/alarm or whatever, will I lose these settings? Is there a chip in the key that helps determine if the driver is the #1 or #2?
Basically I'd like to add at least a remote start to the system but still keep the memory settings that are tuned to they keyfob (unless it's actually tuned to the key.)
I know I won't be able to use the fob as soon as the remote start's installed.
Any ideas? Thx

Not sure the wire colors on the 06', but if you go to the memory seat module, which may be attached to the underside of the driver seat, you can probe the wires and find out which ones go to ground when you trigger your memory seats. Then it's just a matter of connecting say, the unlock wire, from your remote start to this (-) trigger wire and it will go into position when you unlock the car with your new remote.
Just one way to do it.

Directed used to have some remote-specific assignable outputs on some of their alarms to create this kind of effect for memory seats. Clifford had a module but we did it internally by burning an output channel.
I'll ask if any have this any more...

Actually, it is. I couldn't get Marketing to name the damned feature, so I did the initial manual calling it NPC. I figured there was NO WAY they would let that name stand, and would be forced to come up with a new one, and I would search and replace.
Teach me to think too much...

I'm in Canada. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan exactly.
Hey Streeteffectz (or anyone), do you have a kit that you could sell me to get the avic-n2 working with the factory non-nav head unit? I've got the beast and the adapter to have it fit in the storage compartment is coming but no install place wants to touch it otherwise...
Thanks guys!
