Exclamation Radio Code --> All Info You Need

If you can add any info to this thread please do so. Just making one standard location and thread covering it and hopefully making the info easier to find.

If anyone has info like how to get the radio to tell you the serial number or where else the serial number can be found. or if anyone has any info to contribute please do so. Thanks.

If you lost your radio code. You have several options..

1) You can go to your local Acura dealer and they should help you retrieve the code at no cost.
2) You can also retrieve it for free by contacting Acura via phone.. More info can be found here: https://radio-navicode.acura.com
3) This site is reliable but comes at a cost: http://www.radio-code.com/Acura-Pay-Page-radio-code.htm

Have a 2nd Gen TL(99-03) and it won't accept your code?

I usually remove the Radio/Navi to retreive the serial number then I would call the dealers service department and tell them my battery went dead, and the Radio/Navi is asking for a CODE. Sometimes it works on the first call to the dealer or the second call to another. If at first you don't succeed try try again. It works for me all the time. What I believe they charge you for is if they have to remove the radio for the serial number.

there is a way to get the serial number to appear on your radio screen by pressing a few buttons.. i did it but forgot what to press. I'm sure someone can chime in give you more specific directions. After that, you can call the dealership and give them your VIN and serial number and they'll give you the security code.. (write it down and keep it in the car)

When I called an Acura dealer, they told me two possible places to find the radio code. One was on a sticker on the left side of the outside of the glove compartment (which it was for me), the other location I can't remember, but someone else might know.

How many digits are these codes? I have a few numbers in the back of my owners manual that had been written in, but with no indication of what they are for.

turn off radio...
hold the 1 & 6 buttons. then push button to turn on the radio WHILE STILL HOLDING THE 1&6 . .
the radio will flash 2 series of numbers, beggining with a letter like so:
U 12345 *then* L 12345
write down only the numbers, and call up your acura dealer. they'll give you the code.
for 2nd gen TL's , you have to disconnect the antenna (from the rear window) and plug in the code.. a little added fun to this.
if you need any help, hit me up, i went through it a few times.
also, if you have your vin # they'll look it up at the dealer the car was first purchased.

the radio code will also be on a little white sticker behind the trim on the passenger side of the center console. just pop that side off, and you'll see the sticker.
beats taking everything apart to get to the back of the h/u

Dude, you rock! I have been looking for my code for over a year, and refused to pay a dealer to get it for me, and this one tip got me what I needed. I had my mechanic look for the code, and he even stuck a camera in behind the stereo and couldn't find it. Turns out it was exactly as you state...on a white sticker visible simply by removing the wood panel!

The local Acura dealers, won't help because it's ANTI- THEFT unit...that's hilarious.

I am a thief and I want to steal Stock radios... I laughed when they told me.

I guess I'm gonna have to pay, unless someone has the hook up in the MD, VA, DC area.

(Before doing any of the following, check your glove box inside the case where all your owners manual's are. There should be a security card that has your codes. Mine had the card, but the codes were incorrect since the manuals belonged to another TSX and the dealer gave them to me because mine were missing. )

Here's what I did to get the NAV + RADIO unlock code for my 2009 Acura TSX w/ Tech Package:

RADIO:

While the radio is OFF, Press & Hold 1 and 6 then press the POWER button (while still holding 1 and 6); The serial number should show up on the radio screen (usually 6 numerical digits). Take that serial number + your VIN number + your phone number & zip code and plug them all in at this website to reveal your RADIO unlock code:

https://radio-navicode.acura.com/

NAVIGATION:

On the bottom of your HDD (located in your trunk) your navigation's serial # should be visible. It is a variation of number & letters. Take that serial # and follow the same steps as you did with the radio to reveal your Navigation's unlock code.

NOTE: For the Nav, the website gave me an error and I had to call Acura Customer Care and provide them the same information to get the code. (Only took about 1-2 minutes.)

Hope this helps!!

Thanks man, I already retrieved both codes from the Radio and Navi. I told them I had the serial numbers and everything and they told me they needed to confirmed proof of ownership.

Unfortunately the previous owner lost all documents from the car, There was no owners manual nor codes card in the glove box compartment, I checked door, door jambs and nothing.

If you are not register with Acura as the original Owner, they won't give you any info over the phone, but I will call Acura Customer Care.

thanks for the info anyways.

Ok, here is the deal I called Acura Client services here is the number: 18003822238, then press 5. They will be able to help you. Don't bother calling Dealers unless you have a friend to hook you up.

The Navi serial numer on my CL it's at the top part which means it has to be dismounted which some of you already know. But I already have their number and I can call again anytime they said.

Thanks ISeeYouToo for the suggestion on calling Acura Customer Care...

thought this might help

ok so the standard information is if u have to input the code open ur glove box on the left hand side should be your radio code and nav code i think there are 4 and 5 digit codes, now if u go to a junkyard and grab a radio u might have problems unlocking this might help, before u leave the car check the glove box first to see if the code is there if not take a pic of the vin located in the front windshield or the drivers door after u open it of course than go to acura.com enter serial # and vin # or call acura dealer
