Questions about POWER ACOUSTIK DVD player

Below is the 1/2 DIN unit that I'm contemplating buying to install into the coin tray area above the 2G TL Radio Unit (which will be replaced with an Avic D1).

My questions are:
1. Is it a good player? Anyone heard anything bad about it?

2. Can/could/does it fit into the coin tray area? I'm trying to find out the dims so if anyone could enlighten the way...

3. The cost of this player, on Ebay, would be around $150 including shipping) and I could get a good condition PS2 (Slim) for about the same price, but with the brand name trust that goes with it. Plus I would have the ability to play games too....But the PS2 has tray loading which means that I would have to mount it somewhere (where?) else beside the coin tray area. Which leads to my last question, Slim PS2 or this model?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can answer any part of my questions.

Don't know about the DVD player, but I have have my slim ps2 mounted up side down in my glove compartment. I had it unside down so that I still have use of the bttom part of my glove compartment. Plus you also get to play games

But it would be kinda nice to have that DVD player in that tray area.

Well I have no idea on the DVD, but I have experience with Power Acoustik though however. I have an amp and a cap from them, and I'll tell you, it never failed me. This guy wanted cheap but decent speakers for his Elentra that I knew, so I hooked him up with the speakers, amp and sub. I installed in the proper way, and I'll tell you, it sounded fine. Not the best but no rattles, no scratching noise, no disturbance. Magnet was pretty big too. Just trying to give you little background knowledge if you dont know, Good luck!

PADVD-450
I found the link to the ebay site while surfing Google for 1/2 din DVD unit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...648&id=&sasel=
The auction has ended w/o any bids.

Here's another link I found for the same player.

I'm leaning toward the PS2 slim b/c of the ability to play game (even though I don't play video games)...

What do you mean, upside down? Any pics of the install?

Thanks, I've heard of their amps and caps, but never knew that they make in car DVD players too.

yeah, funny two because I don't play games much at all, hardly actually.

I just flipped the ps2 slim upside down so the lid pops downward. I placed it on the topart of the glove compartment.

I will take a pic when I get a chance.

I've had good experiences with their products, I have a cap and highs amp from them now. Had bad experiences with their "bass" amps, but they make good products, the dvd players are good, my friend has one

I have good experience with their audio products as well. The ps2 is just as if not more likely to crap out

Because there have been a lot of issues with those slim ps2's- i've gone through 2 in a year. They dont do well with heat- which is a major factor in a car installation.

Here are the pics, sorry about the pic quality, they are from my phone.
I have't had a problem with my ps2, been in my car a couple of months. I do not use it much, only when I am waiting for class and such.

Thank you for the pics. I understand now. Was the install done by a shop?

No, I just did it my self by cutting a retagular hole on the bottom of the glove compartment to run the wires and use double sided tape to hold it.

Stuck on there real good, but I will change it and use velcro so that I can remove it when ever I want

Only downfall was that I could not longer have my mp3 player standing in there no more, so only listening to cds

Thanks for your response, you've been most helpful. I think I will have the installer do it while he's working on the D1. Any issue with the PS2 power supply? How did you work that?
