Clock reset after every start

So I Recently got a 09 RL but every time I start the car the clock resets...local dealer advised me that it's the DVD unit in the trunk... That's A pretty expensive unit, can anyone confirm it's actually the unit? Thanks

If you can't see the page, follow these instructions, and then try again.
1. Open this link. If you get a popup asking for a user name and password, just click on "Cancel" and you will be able to proceed. I'm not sure if Honda made a mistake and intends to implement the user name and password requirement later but for now this will work. If it changes, let me know.

2. Open any one of the listings.

EE: 1 quick question is it possible for me to interchange my trunk navi unit from 09 to 06? oh I think my unit is a compass not an actual navi.

EE doesn't have an RL, or at least his signature doesn't indicate he does.

To answer your question, you can use any RL DVD drive from 2005-2008 interchangeably, but I would opt for the latter years. 2009-2012 used a different harness and it won't work.

As for your compass statement, you can actually upgrade to a navigation system by swapping the DVD drive with a nav capable unit. It sounds like this upgrade just fell into your lap.

Thanks 007, Actually I bought the about 4mths ago and did not noticed that the clock wasn't working properly so new that I'm gonna need the DVD drive figure I might as well upgrade from compass to navigation...if I can find A 2009-2012 one

What year is your car? You can't cross over the 2009 model year. They have different harnesses.

it's 2009 so based on your earlier thread I figure if I can find a Navigation unit for the comparable years 2009-2012 then I would run with it. but all I'm finding is 06-07s...
If you know where I can get one let me know please.

Ian, sounds like he has a Base model. Wouldn't he have to swap out the HU for a Navi one? Just thinking out loud---

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw your answer in post #6

The HU is the same, but the button labels changed. Turns out all of the hardware difference is in the DVD drive.

OP, just keep checking ebay. One will show up.

Navi Code

Good afternoon 007!
If you are on is there a way to get the navigation code other than going to the DEALER?

2009 RL compass/ navigation unit swap

so I received my newly purchased in trunk navigation unit today, must say I can't believe how easy it was to swap out... plug and play, except I didn't have the code for the newly purchased unit.no sweat called the seller gave him the serial# and in a few seconds I had code. No more issues with the clock reset, and I now have Navigation...
Many Thanks to the SPY 007
ps:paid $500 for the unit on Ebay
