Unhappy Problem with Icelink: Plus on 01 CL-S

I recently purchased the Dension Icelink: Plus and just got done with the install yesterday. By the way...Thanks SkyeFlye for the install instuctions. They helped out alot (especially with what screws went where once putting back together)

Once I hook my ipod into the cradle, I have no control over changing tracks/FF/RW. It sounds amazing, but I just have no control over the ipod UI or any buttons on the radio. Once the install is complete, you are supposed to hit disc #6 to go in a customization menu where you can set preferences from what I understand. My radio just blinks Disc 1, and my ipod lists one of my playlists. None of the radio buttons do anything, nor do the ipod buttons do anything.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the firmware...? Maybe I'll just have to give in and call Dension tonight and see if they can help me out.

Eh - good luck on that.

First reset the ipOd while it's in the cradle.

Then re-try the menu entry. It can take a couple of tries.

I have tried numersous times to reset my ipod, and just made sure I had the latest ipod software on my ipod through itunes updates, although I doubt that matters

I had that problem, as well as every ipod adpater out there. Dension CS will be a waste of time. Just unhook it & return it.
The only thing that worked for me was the Blitzsafe interface. But you don't get any track control from the HU, just volume & ipod charging.
The software in the CL's HU's is just strange. Some ipod adapters work & some don't.

There's a long thread about the Icelink & the other adapters.

That sucks. I guess I should have read that first. I bought it off ebay.

I have a ticket open on densionusa.com. I'll post their response once I get one.

Fuzzy,

I was reading some of your past posts.

Did you ever get around to installing the Neo Ion that you said you ordered a while back? The last post on the thread that I just read was some1 claiming to have a successful Ion.

Yeah that worked only somtimes. It would work fine, then I'd loose control then it would come back. I returned it.

Haha... Here is their lame response. Maybe he didn't understand the part where I said, "None of the buttons on the radio do anything"

You have to go through the up and down arrow to access cd 6 I believe.
