sorry for the retarded/noob question here..
whats the real difference between component speakers and coaxial speakers? is it the existence of the tweeter within the woofer itself?
so, correct me if im wrong, but for the rear 6x9s it would be better to get coaxial speakers to get mid-to-low range sound.

Blasphemy! Don't let elduderino hear you say that.
j/k. In the TSX the 6x9 act like a subwoofer and only receive the low frequencies. Coaxial 6x9 would just waste the tweeter portion of the speaker.
here are some general facts about the TSX system: https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/general-faqs-about-tsx-audio-system-289830/

after a lil more thought.. i think im leaning towards ignoring the 6x9s in the back.
now im just contemplating weather or not to even upgrade the speakers in the rear doors. just getting a better 4-channel amp and better speakers might do the trick.

You might be able to work something out with elduderino to get the equimpent shipped to LA and have Competition Soundworks install it. If not then at least you have a list of the equipment he would recommend. I've seen several very positive posts about the DLS speakers.
I mention this because elduderino is a very respected and knowledgeable member of this forum. I have his Avincar TSX speaker kit and feel it is definitely worth the $425 price. I can only assume that for the systems he has put together in that thread the sound will also be definitely worth the cost.
When I first got the Avincar kit I was going to have it installed professionally. Eldude suggested Competition Soundworks in Cerritos. I eventually installed the kit myself but I did some research and asked around and Competition Soundworks has a very good reputation.
Also, since you live in LA, there is a wealth of audio shops in the area. Go to some, speak to the installers, ask them what they have installed and to listen to their systems. Your ears will guide the way.
Good Luck.
