Playing CDRs
I'm having problems playing the first track of CDRs in the stock hu. The HU is having problems recognizing the beginning of the track for some reason. I'm using TDK Certified Plus cds and I'm using Adaptec CD Creator 4. Anyone know a fix for this?

You may also want to use a different program to burn these CDs like Nero. Especially if you are doing a "On the fly" copy of tracks. Are you burning them from mp3 or wav files? What kind of writer? Try and stick with Yamaha, Plextor, or HP.. you will always get good results.
BTW, I'm writing on memorex 80min and TDK 80min at 10X for me on Yamaha with no prob.

I'm writing with Adaptec EZ CD Creator 4
I'm using TDK (blue bottom) all speed media.
Yes, I'm converting from mp3 to wav.
I still get the problems every once in a while. I might try a different program or upgrade my writer.

I have found that Nero seems to work better when I am burning directly from mp3s. Adaptec works fine when you are using wav files.
Good Luck.

Similar to liutang, I find that recording at 2X speed always works. If I record at 4X speed (max writing speed on my Plextor), my Sony ES head unit can't read it about 15% of the time, and the CD changer about 20% of the time (for some reason sometimes I can play them in the head unit but the changer gets a read error).
I never have any problems with them in my Discman or in my stereo, though my friend's bookshelf unit sometimes gets read errors on them when recorded at 4X just like my car stereo (I think it's an Aiwa system).
This will depend on the burner you have and the sensitivity of the CD readers more so than the CD-Rs themselves, though I have heard that the green ones are the worst and the blue ones the best. I've even heard of people who have to record at 1X to get a finicky stereo to read them. Good luck.
