Pix of our showcar done

This is just some pix I wanna throw up on the board of an install my shop did.

Sorry about the size of pics I don't know how to shrink them

These pix were taken from the car show.

We did a Phoenix Gold/Hertz Audio/ Pioneer/ Nesa / Compustar System.

The paint on the "skin" or "trim panel" is painted from a thermal pain that changes from black to white from heat.

This is a 2005 Range Rover.

This system includes 6 TV's Full Navigation, Built in Xbox in the bezel(just the xbox drive itself) Wireless Xbox controllers, multi source selector, RF headphones,
Custom front door pods, centre channel 5.1 dolby digital. Phoenix Gold 4 x Xenon 12" Subs and one Titanium Elite 12" Sub. 2 X1200.1 Onyx Edition Phoenix Gold Amps, and one X200.4 Onyx 4 Channel Amp.

ENJOY!

Very nice install

But the vehicle (and expecially the sneaker hanging from the rearview) is waaaaay too ghetto.

Very nice install, i don't think you'll win any shows with the sneaker though.

The HU looks slightly crooked, and so is the HR monitor in the driver's HR. There is a huge gap at the aft end of the sub enclosure, apparently, and you can see the sub box through the gap at the bottom of one of the pics.

And these pics seem to have been taken at a car show. (Look at the backgrounds).

I don't know that I want to use the word "ghetto", but obviously keeping the system stealth was not a priority. This car is now incapable of carrying anything in the back. At least when we did Isaiah Rider's Rover with 6 Solobaric 12"s, he could put his workout bag in there after practice. This is for show only, obviously.

Only takes a few grand to ruin a $80K car as far as its intended purpose is concerned.

I was wondering how an 05 range is too?

Its got 37 tv's, an xbox in the dash, and giant subwoofers sticking out all over. Just because its in a nice car doesn't mean its not ghetto.

Not bad...definitely a lot of work but I think that some attention to smaller details would have made it a lot better. If the pictures were taken at a car show, I would think it would be a spotless inside. Couldn't tell if that was dirt of the screen in the dash but it looked like it to me. The screen in the driver's HR is sitting a little low on the right side. Not a big deal, but not really something I would wanna see at a car show. Overall pretty good but definitely not my style. Of course it's a show car, and I want to keep my car a daily driver...so I don't go to that extent on interior mods.

The customer has 5 other cars. He didn't want trunk space. This car hit 186db's. Insanely loud. This job was also rushed, i know we really shouldn't have, but the customer rushed us to push this out in 3 weeks before the car show, and i was working 7 days straight no sleep up until the day of the car show to get it in. There were still small details we didn't complete at the car show but we've completed now, so I mean $40,000 later this guy has a bumpin system. He doesn't care about trunk space, obviously, otherwise we wouldn't build such a system like that in his trunk.

and yes you can see the backing of the sub enclosure underneath the skin for that inverse mounted sub, that was left intentionally. Pictures don't do justice.

Not to be an ass here with my comment above, but at least 50% of the Range Rovers I see - the expensive ones are driven by "ghetto" - at least in NYC and NJ.

Anytime someone says "mad pimp" - that is a sure sign ghetto is in full effect.....

My 2 cents....

Still like the install though

while it isn't my taste, and I understand the burden that goes with rushed show cars, i still think more attention to detail could have been spared. Furthermore I know HAVE to throw a BS flag on the field. I know with out any doubt and with all certainty that car will not hit 186 actual db's

Nismo, I'm not sure what reaction you were expecting, but if you're not getting it, maybe it isn't that EVERYONE ELSE is wrong?

I love it when people post pics up here and then hate the responses the pics garner. I try to be accomodating about shade-tree DIY jobs, holding those to a different standard - but when you position yourself as a professional and then voluntarily display your work, you best be prepared for feedback, don't you think?

yes fair enough to who is to judge the work we've done. I don't see any other acurazine members with cars with done up systems or could do something like this. I am only posting it as something for people to have an idea about it. All you people who trash it and so on, don't have a 100g' car and didn't spend 40g's on a system or can't afford it. So I really wouldn't trash it. As well as posted above, we did all the touch ups and finish work after the show because of the rush.
How many guys on this forum have a system with ICE worth $20g's?! Post here and tell me that you have 20g's worth of ICE in your car. And trust me I don't care if you believe me or not it hit 186db's, I really don't care, in the past i've posted threads and given the same response I don't care if you guys believe me or not don't post threads saying you don't believe me cuz i don't care.

We've tweeked everything to run below 1ohms.

now I've let this sit overnight in hopes that a typo was made and that cooler heads will prevail, but alas apparently that is not the case. The bottom line is I know with the absolute certainty that 186's are impossible. The closest true competitor is SCott Adams out of Arizona who is using 13 12" subs and something like 54 2000w RMS amps. And he is only hitting mid 170's (which are the world record right now).

I'm sure you could probably get into the 150's on the termlab and that is a highly respectable number anywhere in the world. but you don't have to lie to kick it here. I know there are quite a few very accomplished installers here that have done things that just boggle the mind. just trying to say that your car is nice, and given the rush and the amount of glass ya'll did a fairly good job, just don't be so defensive when opinions are offered. . .it is the internet.

Well unless you guys took apart the motor assembly and rewired the voice coils there is not to much you can do you "Tweek" it below 1 ohm ....

I am assuming you just ment that the subs are wired into a 1 ohm load... Assuming you are running Pheniox Gold Xenon Amps which it looks like in the picture the D class sub amp have REGULATED POWER SUPPLIES.....!!!! you really would not see any audible noticeable differance from 4 to 1 ohm..

When you pull your car to the lanes like this its not easily achieved...

And check out the install nothing Easy about it..........

For someone with the word expert next to your screen name you might want to do a little homework..

I worked as a Mobile Manager for Sound Advice in Ft Lauderdale for a few years and have competed at Spring break nationals many years and still have ALOT to learn.........

And even with the hitting 169.4 "awsome SPL btw" what kind of meter and mic were used when was it calibrated and by whome........? These things can make a huge differance. The new termlab will drop quite a few DB's off almost any reading out there in the past...Trust me I used to hit 154 all day long with no problem or changing around from my daily setup termlab brought me down below 150... IT SUCKED...

o brother.......i dont no where u are from but 40k for that? wowwwwwwwwwww. the idea is cool i guess. if u ask me u just ruined a range rover. but ur so so work is something im not gonna debate with u.who are u to come onto a forum and tell people what they can and cant afford and talk about money like u r. we all no ur not on wallstreet. ur just a dirtball installer, no better then any of us. i dont have 20k in my car but i have a pretty decent amount of money in mine. and it is alot more taistfully done than that. a 40k install dosnt make it god. equipment only cost so much.....the rest is the install/labor and how good u r at ripping people off. u dont no dick about peoples finances. just because we drive badass TL's makes us not able to afford 100k car? ok buddy.

You know, when Nismo first posted this thread I edited it because I felt it was advertising. I changed it back after getting some other opinions.

Now, looking back on it, it probably would have been better for Nismo if I HAD edited the 'my shop did this' parts, because I know for damn sure this shitty install and his blatant lack of even basic A/V knowledge isn't going to bring any customers from this site
