2004 BMW M3 SMG - installed Eclipse AVN-5435 - PICS!
Instead of flushing this one in all the way, we decided to mold it into the factory brushed aluminum trim and then do some custom "brushed" trim of our own. This install requires reworking the factory air ducts for the HVAC, as you can see in the pictures - to flush it in, the bar in the pictures that I'm pointing to would either need to be removed or remade to work around the double din unit. It controls the driver side lower vent - We've done that too, this is just one other way to do it

And I can tell you it still took less time than it would have getting the engine noise out of the stock nav HU : ) ... and sounded better too. Nice work!
Yeah, when those cars get single DINs the DIN has to sit up really high and it can look dorky if you don't rework the AC ducts like that.
