Talking Pics of my system check it out!

My front door components -same in every door

Center console with temporary dash kit - Metra kit soon, the bass knob is below the CD player

Capacitor in the ski hole area

Trunk

Mid amp

Sub amp - looks small by the big ass mid amp - haha but its rated at 728 Watts so its great for the JL's

I really like the sound - it plays all types of music perfectly. It will hit real hard when you want too, but the mids are seriously amazing Even at real high volumes, the sound is so effortless and clear. I am getting a cover made for the amps also, so I can put stuff on them without scratching 'em up. What do you guys think? Thanks all

trunk looks great. Do u still have access to your spare? If so, how easy is it to take out. The dash kit does not look too hot tho. It really looks out of place. Everything else looks pretty good tho.

Nice work. I was considering moving my Navi unit in the trunk to make room for my box, but yours looks good like that. I might do the same... Good luck

Looks great OU. I love the look of the Focal tweet in the door. I never would have thought of putting it there.

Ya what I got everything installed they didnt have the Metra kit. So Im going to order one and try to make it match better like some guys on here did then go back in. That one is just temporary. The spare is another story, if I just had to get to it I could, but Im just going to get AAA and not worry about it.

I originally wanted the front tweeters in the door up higher, but he convinced me that the sound would be better and that the Focals are plenty powerfull enough. Also with that deck you can adjust the time correction and actually "raise" the soundstage. So with those two things, the sound is perfect. thanks for the input!

I know its not the best, but that was the only black plastic material that they had at the time, they arent going to charge for the new kit install.

OU,

Looks good. I am also going with the Focals. I am going to mount the tweeter in the blank piece by the mirrors. My interior is Black, so I think it will blend in better up there. I am taking Shawhite's advice and going with a different amp to drive the Focals then originally intended. I have the Alpine amp, that drives the Sub, under the driver's seat. I hope I can fit the JL 300/4 under the driver's seat.

Ya that sounds good, promise you that the Focals will scream in your ear if you have them that high. They have level adj. in the crossover and I would turn the fronts down a notch or two. Cant go wrong with the JL amps, I just didnt have the $$$ and Ive always had good luck with Kicker. This amp was like $100 less than the 300.4 and it has a bunch more power. But the Focals are great - you will love them.

The tweet install is slick! I will take some pics of my Metra for y'all. I think it turned out great. I had scratched the pocket up pretty bad when I sanded it. I thought I was going to have to start over with a new kit. Instead, my father-in-law suggested I wipe it with laquer thinner. Score! I sanded of all the bumpy texture with 400 grit, then smothed it with 800 and finished with 1200. It took some time but was well worth it. Ue the paper wet so it doesn't clog. Finally, wipe the whole it with laquer thinner. It will melt all the noticeable scratches away. The color turns a little darker but it looks just right in its spot. There are a few shades of grey in the dash and it all balances out.

Overall, the system is first class! Shoot your installer and get the Metra, you'll be all set to shake the neighbors' china.

Man, that amp is huge.

Do you know what the actual power its putting out? They seem good for the price, thinking of getting a large 4 channel amp..

Ya no kidding! I was looking for a 4 channel amp with plenty of power. I have had components in the past had fried the tweeters with distortion because I didnt have enough power to them - this wont happen this time. It is rated at 100 x 4 into 4 ohms. As with all Kicker amps it has that sheet that rates the actual power and it was nearly 1100 Watts. My installer said he ran 4 12's off this amp - it has plenty of available power. Obviously it isnt pushing that now cause it is running in 4 ohms - not 2 and its not producing any bass.

The main thing is you dont want to underpower any speaker and components really love power. I would recommend an amp with 100 real watts/ channel into 4 ohms. I have heard many amps - JL, Kicker, Xtant, Rockford, Sony and I just believe you cant beat Kicker amps for value.

also...you can see that I am able to keep my gain low on my Mid amp. This is one component that helps to keep SQ high and distortion low. Another advantage of a high power amp.

OU,

thanks for the info man. Did the sheet say how many watts it puts into each channel at 4 ohms?

No it is just a total MAX power output into 14.4 Volts. I belive that the 100x4 rating is quite accurate in my situation.

WHattup, I'm new to the board but I do have something to say about the amps. Kicker makes great amps, indeed. They're a little pricey. I've got a JBL BP1200.1 (250 off ebay) and it puts out a true 1380 watts. It's clean, powerful. The only drawback on this amp is that it doesn't have a subsonic filter for those with ported enclosures. But JBL makes pretty nice stuff if you can get it for cheap. Same with Kicker. Not too big of a fan of their speakers or subs, unless you're a bass-head, but the amps really are nice.

JL subs are really clean. Nice job man!

thanks bud, ya that JBL amp is a hoss, my friend has a Tahoe with 2 Digital Design 15's and one of those amps on each one.....stupid loud. Anyway you have to watch how much power you have cause our stock alternator is only like 105 amps (TLP) and 120 for the Type S. Anything more than about 1200 watts and you could start having problems.
