oh geez

I wanted to put in an aftermarket head unit (receiver), but my friend said that if I do, I have to replace all the speakers because they all have amplifiers attached to them. Is this true? I just want to replace the dash and nothing else right now cause I don't have the money.

I'm stupid, can someone explain.

there is one amp in the car however, the bose amp, that drives all the speakers. what you are going to have to do is run speaker wires to each speaker from the headunit or bypass the amp.

or you can get the aftermarket-to-BOSE plug and just plug it in.

just replace the speakers anyway, throw a couple of amps in there and call it a day.

your not stupid, just not completly informed. hehe

where can I get the aftermarket-to-bose plug-in? What I did in my last car (that didn't have bose) and what I want to do again is cut out all bass in the stock speakers and hook up my subwoofer and amp. This allowed me to crank the volume without danger of blowing the speakers. I just used my one amp for the subs and nothing else.
