Need Some Amp Opinions Please

I just sold my amp for the Pilot and I am looking at new 5 channel amps. Here is my list so far. I am probably buying a good used one or a great deal on a new one.

Arc Audio 5150XXK ($335-$400)
US Amps 5600x ($375)
JL 500/5 (maybe a bit out of my price range)

I am running Diamond Hexes up front and an Image IDQ 10" sub. I am thinking of running the Hexes active and biamping.

Any suggestions and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

How about a DLS Classic CA-51?

50 w 4 RMS, 80 x 4 typical, plus 150W x 1 at 4 ohms and 225W x 1 at 2 ohms.

three independent xovers, and a 0-180 phase switch, high-level in and auto-start if you need it.

DLS or USamps. I like the auto start feature on the DLS's.

Well the US Amps is out. He sold it already. I really like the idea of the Arc but, will it be enough power for a set of Diamond Hexes?

Also, I am really thinking about running the Hexes active and biamping. But, if I run a tweeter and a mid of seperate channels, does anyone know the impendence of each driver? The system impendence is 4 ohms. Is each driver 2 or 8 ohm or do they do it differently. If they were 2 ohm each, then the Arc would send about 75 watts to each driver. That sounds pretty good. Am I close to the right track?

Also, are there any other 5 channel amps I should look at?

hey acurax2 been a minute since i have posted on here but i had to throw you a quick suggestion.. i personally like arc amps.. but how are you planning on running the amp... is it powering anything in the rear or are you going to bridge it and power just the hexes and sub with it.. if so go with a 4 channle amp...

also have you looked at the zapco or the diamond audio amps...

The woofers are 4ohm@150watts minimum/300max. The tweets are 8ohm@50watts minimum/100max.

I would get 1 4channel amp & 1 1channel mono amp to drive the sub.

Shawhite...good to hear from you. been a while. I am looking at running my Diamond Hexes active and use each of the 4 channels to drive one driver. Then the 5th channel for the sub. Diamond amps are too big for my install and Zapco does not have a one amp solution in my budget.

optomos...I am looking for a single amp solution, not two for space reasons. thanks for the specs.

I decided on the Arc amp. I have heard nothing but good and since I am going for SQ, it should do the trick. I think bridging the amp and running 150 x 2 into the Diamond Hexes and 190 x 1 @ 2ohms on the Image IDQ10 should be pretty good. How does that sound?

For SQ, wouldn't you run the mids and tweets on separate channels and NOT bridge it?

I have been told two ways to go. Running everything active or bridging and running using the passive setup. I would love to try running them active but, is 45 watts enough? If the tweeter is 8 ohm, will it see even less. I may try both ways to see which works best. I know the Diamond Hex mid likes alot of power to really sound good. From what I have read anyway.
