new speakers neceessary?
Ok, so the 2001-2003 3.2CL has bose system. I want to get a new head unit, subs, amp. I'm not gonna spend crazy amounts on a system (less than 1000) since i know this wholesale place i can go to, i just need something above average, and on ocassion i could really bump up. . don't know which head unit to go with, maybe like 2 12 inch subs, and 2000 watt amp.
are the stock speakers good enough to use, or is it nececssary to getr new speakers if i'm gonna be upgrading the other parts?

What kind of 2000W system for under $1000 can you have?
It sounds like you are not interested in sound quality as your priority... not a bad thing, but good to know. (If you were, in that budget you'd ace all the OEM speakers and use a single 12" to stay within budget.)
For that car, I'd either get new speakers, sub, and amp for less than $1K, with the OEM HU, or up that budget. But that's just me...

hmm...
well i'm just wondering if it is necessary because are the Bose speakers in our car any good? or are they just the shittiest thing made? if they are good enough to work with head unit, amp, subs, then there might be no point in getting new speakers... i dunno..Because i have a friend who has a new infiniti g35 sedan and the guys at the wholesale place were like "your bose speakers are pretty damn good already, so there is no point in getting new speakers." so i was trying to make that comparison with my car,

I think you answered your own question in your first post - 2000watt amp running a couple of 12's (which you won't find for under $1000 by the way, especially if you are looking at running a TRUE 2000watt setup) w/a new headunit, while still running the 200watt (or whatever it really is) factory amp and factory speakers??? If you were to run it that way the way it was intended for, you'd never even hear the speakers in the car
It all depends on what YOU want and what you are looking to gain out of the system.

This has got to be an oxymoron doesn't it? Bose car speakers and pretty damn good.
What exactly do you want to accomplish? Are you looking for SQ or just wake up the neighbors with annoying bass loud.

I just want to get a better system with a cleaner sound and more bass,
AcuraX2, that is what i was saying, that the Bose speakers are good.
Street, my friend got a really good setup according to him, he got it from a wholesale place in downtown LA near the fashion district, so its not cheap stuff

The Bose speakers are crappy when they're new, and they sound worse and worse as they age because they are made of poor-quality materials. They get soft and flex and all that. Bose doesn't make aftermarket car audio gear because they would get their ass kicked (they tried it in the 80's and quit).
Their prime objective is to sound impressive on the lot and make the OEM money - NOT to sound good over time.
So upgrading them is a good thing.
And car salesmen would say nice things about Stalin, Osama, and Hitler if it would help them get a sale. OK, maybe not Osama, but I'm sticking to Hitler and Stalin.
