need insider tips on hooking up PS2

i finally decided on the setup I'm using. Alpine TME-M790 screen and CDA-7998 cd deck. I was going to try the DVA-7996 but its a bit pricey so... i'm going to hook up my PS2 instead. My question is this:

I've seen people re-route their connections for the controllers away from their actual PS2 unit to mold it into the dash or wherever else. How can I go about doing this? Would I have to mutilate my PS2? i'd also like to locate it in a convenient location to load and unload discs from the drivers seat. any suggestions? is there enough clearance under the seat? thanks in advance,

jason

p.s. i have a 1999 Accord sedan

Hiya,
I have PS2 right now in my car under the passanger seat, but I am not really happy with it being there.

Here are the cons that I have so far :
First of all, when you have passanger in the back seat they might hit the ps2 by mistake and it would restart it ..

Passanger in the back seat behind passanger side can't streatch their legs cos of ps2

If you are alone it would be lil hard to put the disc in ps2

You would have to restart ps2 everytime you restart you car.

There is no cd memory, meaning the songs would start all over again if you are using ps2 for the regular cds.

there may be more but just a few that came to my mind so far. . so, I have bought a Clarion dvd player that I m thinking of putting in as Indash ...... cost me about $300 on ebay ..

hope this helps you with your install .. sorry i m not sure how to reroute the wires ..... you can ask Ron (Streeteffectz) and he can give you more info on it ...

good luck with you install

i rarely have more than 1 or 2 other passengers with me so that might work out then.. =) do you have any clearance problems? if i can stuff it under the seat, i might not need to re-route the connectors then.. *shrug*

pangpang77, that is exactly what i'm looking for. question is how do you mutilate your PS2 so that it still works? i can do the fabrication, but the electrical work inside the PS2 will probably confuse me.

Here's a good FAQ on how to take apart the PS2:
