Navi help w/ dynomat

Does anyone have the OEM Navi system and a system in the trunk, if so is your trunk dynomated. I recently used dynomat extreme on my entire trunk lid and it seems like a week later the navi unit is acting very wierd...Has anyone experienced this before considering that the dynomat extreme has that metalic plating.

No problems here.

Why would dynamat on on your trunk lid cause problems with your navi??? The sat antenna thing-a-majig is in the rear deck.

make sure you don't have dynamat covering the navigation GPS receiver. It's the 2 square inch box on the rear deck that's kinda off center to the drivers side. Give it about 2" of free space around it.

i agree with bryand, check for the reciever. That could be the problem. Metal + Reciever = weird shiet.

Damn, Damn, Damn! I noticed today after dynamating my rear deck that my navi was not communicating properly. I matted over the receiver! Can anybody shoot me a pic of where the receiver is??? Off center to the drivers side. How big is it. This dynamat is gonna be a bitch to pull off!

I thought the antenna was on top of the car. So the dynamat should not interfear with the GPS reception. It would not make since to put a reciever antenna inside of a metal trunk.

Its on the rear deck. You really have to give it some room with dynamat extreme. I had to give it a few inches all around, and not cover the wire either.

Same navi problem

I have the same problem with my 2001 CL-S - 68k almost 4 years. The first year, I almost never had an error, but in year 2 and 3, it got progressively worse. The last year, the Nav is off by 50%- sometimes showing that I'm in the Pacific Ocean. Seems like its directionally off, will start going west when I'm going north. I think its the antenna, as I dread starting my drive from parking garages -where it has bad reception.
I do have window tint (for the past three years)

Where is the antenna -exactly --
What solution might exist.

Thanks in advance.
