Nav system voice with new head unit?

Nav system voice with new head unit?
I just bought a used 2001 TL and I was thinking about upgrading the stereo. If you install a new head unit on a second-gen TL with nav, do you lose the nav voice? Or do you at least lose the feature where the left side speakers dim as she talks?

you will lose the voice. unless you find the voice wire and tap into it. then you will have to get a small amp and speaker to play it...I personally thought it was annoying so I didnt care at all.
