The install cost 1700. The amps, speakers, HU, etc......dont even ask.

I used Edead V1 SE & Cascade VB-1X.

Trunk- edead on large thin metal panels then 3 to 4 coats of cascade.
Trunk Lid- 2 layers of edead.
Doors- eadead inside door with 2 layers around speaker area then 2 coats of
cascade. On the outside 2 coats of cascade & edead to cover holes.
Door Panels- 2 coats of cascade
Floor- edead & 2 to 3 coats of cascade
Rear Deck- edead & 3 coats of cascade
Rear Deck Panels- 2 thick coats of cascade

The sound is superb. He put a lot of time into eq’ing everything with the zapco eq's & his RT. The imaging is phenomenal & the sound stage is very wide. He played a track where you hear a bird chirp & it sounded as though the bird was perched on top of my side mirrors chirping directly at me

A note on the Seas Lotus.
He was impressed with the midass capabilities & so am I. He had some problems adjusting the tweets because of the slope/curve, but managed to adjust them with the mids. His thoughts were; they would make a great home audio tweeter.

Even though the tweets were metal dome they were not harsh, but the midrange was another story. As I play the music loud they become extremely harsh. I put in my Chinese bamboo flute CD, turned it up & OMG…the hair on the back of my neck stood up. At low to mid volume though, it’s not bad.
He currently has them on the 100W amp, but he wants me to bring it back so he can switch it & put the tweet on the 100W amp & put the midrange on the 75W and do some more tuning.

Summary:
Midbass – Superb
Tweets – Excellent
Midrange – Whoa horsy, whoa

Oh ya, I almost forgot the ID MAX: Tight, very accurate, and can get stupid loud if you like.

You can get eDead at edesignaudio.com or ebay. Cascade at cardomain.com or partsexpress.com

would u say edead plus coats of cascade is overkill?
or would just the cascade work?
Did you do the deading itself, if so how long did it take you?

and damn $1700 for install is crazy but very clean, how long did it take them?
Also does that box on the top deck open up for a cd changer or something?

that shit is straight

Maybe. mats & liquid deaden differently. Mats ar a mass deadener while the liquid converts sound/vibration to low level heat. You could use just cascade. They also have the liquid in a mat version to. I did all the deadening myself. It took alot of time, but I broke it down. I did a door at a time etc. It takes time because you have to take the car apart, clean the metal/plastic, wait 2 to 3 hours between coats, and then reasemble everything.

It took them 2 1/2 weeks. $1700 is not bad for quality work. He competed for many years so his expertice was worth it.

Yep. That box is to hide the CD changer.

Tnx.

I used a Purdy paint brush, cheap foam brush, and roller. In the end I liked the quality "Purdy" paint brush the best. The roller was good for the floor, but had to go back over because it would miss low spots. The foam was good for hard to reach areas where a thick coat was required, but it had to be fully saturated all the time.

Looks clean, although I'm not sure about the sub location, especially when you put crap in your trunk, but I guess it's nothing a blanket can't fix.

I bought a 5 gallon bucket. With everything I did I still have a quarter of the bucket left. I could still do the roof, hood, & firewall if I wanted to.

eDead SE is comparable to dynamat extreme. eDead SE is actually thicker. Some people prefer Raamat over eDead because raamat (new version) is 100% butyl while edead has some asphalt in it to improve adehsion. Of course both are alot cheaper than dynamat.

I would imagine the sprayed on Cascade would be better. It covers more area for better results.

If you only wanted to do one of them, then the Cascade would be the best. Its 239 at cardomain. Should be no more than 250-260 with shipping.

im doin both,

gotta save up money - but first things first -

my helms manual is coming in the mail soon and the car is coming apart

(from the inside) before i do anything (obv).

Edead is good for the trunk lid and door panels + maybe a few other

small places i presume - how much sq. Ft do you think is neccesary ?

Liquid usually weighs about 7 to 8 pounds a gallon. But all that depends on density of it.

Eh, water weighs a little over 8 lbs a gallon (at standard temperature & pressure), there are lots of liquids in the world...

Anyway, here's a tech sheet:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/268-256.pdf

Weight: 12.9 lbs/gallon
Non-volatile content by weight: 75%

So, 9.7 lbs/gallon when cured.

I have 24lb's left so I used about 3 to 3 1/2 gallons.

Dragon- I bought 60sq ft of edead. That covered the trunk lid, the floor, inside of all the doors & outside door holes, part of the fender wall in the trunk and small amount on rear deck to cover small holes. So if you want to do your whole trunk with it, I would get 75-80 sq ft. Just make sure you get the "studio edition".

FYI - when laying or brushing the deadeners on, watch the screw holes. I got some of the liquid stuff in some of the holes & had to clean it out before the screw would go back in. Not hard to clean out, just a pain in the ars.

thanks, so around 350 - 400 is what this is gonna cost to my door.

your setup really came out nice, i plan on doing my system over,

do you recommnend doing the system first and then dampening second

or dampening first and then over haul the system?

I would do it at the same time. When you do your front doors would be the best time to run new wire for the front speakers. Also, right after you deaden your floor is when I would run your power wire & any other wires to the trunk. Just do your trunk first.

They are Q-Logic kick forms. The 98-2002 Accord forms will fit the Acura TL with no modification. They are thin & will resonate Alot so you just need to add mass to the back by glassing or using lots of mat.

i dont "do" installations,

as far as getting this all done what should i do?

my car is not insured, so i cant drive it anywhere....

take it apart, sound proof it, put the driver seat in and then just call it a wrap

and do the system overhaul at a later day? the interior takes up a lot of space

once its out of the car i assume.

OIC. Well I guess that will have to work then. The rear seats & trunk liner take up the most space. While your at it when you pull the carpet out (through the rear door) shampoo it.
