Mercman Factory Amp Harness

Mercman, if you're out there, I could use a factory amp harness if you've got any available. I tried to send a PM but the forum is blocking me for some reason.

I've got an 09 TSX non Navi and I'm getting ready to start upgrading the audio system. I'm going to start with a 5 Channel amp to power the stock speakers and 8 inch sub mounted in the rear deck.

Thanks,
Rick

You need to have a few posts before you can PM. I will be making more harnesses soon. I have to reorder some parts and I am working on some other projects that will influence exactly what I order. I will be making more harnesses so sit tight, just looking at ways to make them better.

Mercman, you did notice that he has an 09 TSX right? Will your harness work the same or are you making different harnesses for the new TSX?

I’m almost certain that the tech package DLS system is completely different and won’t work with my harness. I have not investigated the new non DLS system but we can start with the wiring diagram and a photo of the factory amp and go from there.

I’m not sure if I’m going to do the 09 because I’m not sure I want one.

OP if you can access your amp and take some photos we can start there.

If you need wiring diagrams or anything, let me know. I'm sure I could grab the manuals from service and copy/scan them.

Hey mercman. Everything is going great with the system. I had some tuning done and slapped in my new Pink Floyd Greatest Hits CD....I swear I had chill bumps for over an hour!

Anyway, the reason I'm posting, I had an '09 TSX the other day as a loaner while having some warranty work done....I freaking loved it. Handling and performance were about the same...hard to tell a difference, but the styling upgrades inside and out were very nice. If it wouldn't cost so much to take everything out my '06 and reinstall it in the '09, I'd be driving it still today. Yes...it is that nice.

Guys..don't brush off the new TSX...just go test drive one. You'll like it. And mercman..stop being lazy and make these guys a harness!

Later....

*** PLEASE HELP, ANYBODY ***

First
The 20 pin harness for the speakers that you pull out of the factory amp.
Does anyone know what wires are for the drivers side woofer?
Or even better if someone has a diagram stating what all the wires are on the 20 pin connector?

Second
Where is the best place to run the amp power wire from under the hood to inside the car? In othe

Third
where and how do you guys recommend doing the ground for the amp?

Your a life saver I looked everywhere and couldn't find it!!!

I thought the two connectors going into the amp were a 14 pin (where I plug mercmans cable into) and a 20 pin not a 26 pin?

The Honda Civic 20 pin speaker harness only has one rear deck woofer as the Civic only has one woofer. Just wire the rear deck speakers directly to the trunk mounted amp, no reason to run them to the factory harness anyway.

I am running the rear deck speakers directly to my JL amp, but what I was asking is what wires are the front drivers side woofer? wong05tsx wrote and said the speaker wires were :
A8 RED/BLU Stereo Amplifier (Driver's door speaker (+), Left tweeter (+))
A18 YEL Stereo Amplifier (Driver's door speaker (-), Left tweeter (-))

When I looked at the 20 pin harness I didn’t even see a yellow wire let alone I couldn’t find the Red/Blu either.
I ran all new wires for the drivers front tweeter, the passenger tweeter, and the passenger tweeter (even managed to get it through the housing going from the car to door). However it was IMPOSSIBLE to get any wire through the drivers side front housing going from the door to the car so I have to find what wires run the front drivers side woofer so I can tap into them at the 20pin connector where you pull it out of the amp,

I actually got very fed up and said f$%k it an ordered the “Honda Integration Adapter
Bypasses the factory amplifier in select 2006-up Hondas” from cructhfield and it will be here tomorrow!

That harness is the best way to go. It's $20 and saves alot of frustrations. There is a note at the end of the post with the wire colors.

"Wire at speaker is different color than wire at amplifier. Wire at speaker given."

That's probably why you didn't see those colors at the harness end. The wires are different colors at the harness than at the speakers.

Does anyone know if the TL's DVD-A player will fit in place of the '04 Accord's 6CD in-dash changer?

No one has heard from mercman for a couple months. I think he's just out of the harnesses...
