TSX + Navi... soo confused, need advice
1. Do i NEED Mercman's harness? What does it do? Is it possible to install 2 amps + sub without it?
2. If i DON'T use mercman's harness, will it affect any other part of the system? like Bluetooth or USASpec ipod or anything else?
3. What upgrade speakers do you recommend if i want to stick with the factory amp? (as in.. just changing speakers.. not adding an amp)

I don't suppose you HAVE to use his harness. I don't know of any other out there though. I'm using it and don't know what I what have done without it. It basically bypasses the factory amp so you don't have to cut any wires. It terminates into 4 RCA's that you plug into your aftermarket amp.
It will not affect anything else. Your nav and HFL will still work like normal, but louder and more clear depending on what amp and speakers you use.
I can't help you with the last question. I replaced my speakers and amp at the same time. I used the JL-650's up front if it matters. Feel free to PM me if you want.

thanks for the reply. looks like i'll probably have to get merc's harness in order to make it simple. I just wished he's start making them again.
As for components.. What do you think of this setup?
Subwoofer:
JL Audio 10W3V2-2 300Watts @ 2ohm - $130
Sub Amp:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-1 300watts @ 2ohm = $140
Multichannel Amp:
Rockford Fosgate Punch P400-4 50watts x 4 @ 4ohm = $149
Front Speakers:
Alpine Type S SPS-600C 6.5" Component 80watts = $85
Rear Speakers"
Alpine Type S SPS-500 5.25" Speakers 55watts = $60
10" sealed sub enclosure = $50
------------------------------
Total = $615 + tax

I'd check out some different rear speakers, if not even the components... The Rockford 4-channel is really underrated... I have a slightly older 450.4 in my car, and it's rated at 60 x 4 channels at 4 ohms... The birthsheet that Rockford sends out with every amp shows 98 x 4 channels at 4 ohms... Fortunately, I've bought Rockford amps before and knew that I'd need a speaker that can handle around 100, and got my Polk/Momo components, and they sound great... As for the sub amp/woofer combo, that looks good.
What I would be concerned with is that the Mercman harness (according to White92) ends in 4 RCA's. With the two amps, you're going to want 6 RCA's (2 sub, 2 front 4 channel, 2 rear 4 channel). Other than that, it looks good...
