line converter wiring problem

i just installed an amp and sub in my car. i used a scoche converter. now my front speakers don't sound right. and the left rear doesn't work at all. if i fade to the back and balance to the left i get a muffled sound from the drivers front door

i used the wiring diagram in silverknights instructions.

i can only guess i have a couple wires wrong. any ideas?

dude, you dont need a line converter...just tap in at the factory amp wiring harness, its already line level and you wont need that converter....thats how i have my basslink installed, everything sounds great

mattg,
You shouldn't use the line converter and save yourself some money.
I'll update my template regarding this issue.

PM me if you need any help

I'm interested to see your update, SK. I tapped into the deck-amp wires and crimped on an RCA cable and had so much line noise I went back to the Bloze amp. This is for cabin speakers.

So I ordered a Navone LOC yesterday.

I had trouble getting a good tap using wire taps, so I soldered the RCAs. Works great for my amp/sub.

Before using locs, I would try tapping at the headunit....

I'm going to try and make something like the CLAB98-R. Both plugs (head unit and harness) are available at car stereo shops. Soldering RCAs at the head unit will provide a SHIELDED signal to the trunk. The signal to the Bose amp is not shielded, excessive noise is not a suprise. If you don't have noisy signal at the Bose amp, you are lucky.

The Navone LOC's are quality units that use transformers for isolation eliminating ground loops and making a sub amp install a breeze.
